Go To

The craziness in New York complicates the task of returning a DVD; Things go sour when the Turtles try to help a down-and-out mutant.

"Late Fee"

  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: For a movie no less. It's not attacking the Turtles, but it prevents them from returning the dvd.
  • Broken Record: "New York! What a town!"
  • Comically Small Bribe: Splinter says he'll give the brothers hugs if they return the DVD on time. He tries to think of more to offer, but the turtles are sold on hugs alone.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After dealing with one setback after another, the turtles manage to return the DVD and get a group hug from Splinter.
  • Evil Is Petty: Ghostbear will take even the most trivial opportunities for revenge against the turtles. Luckily, they are able to use it to their advantage by making him think they don't want the DVD return.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Raph defeats the mutant silverfish, but accidentally destroys the kiosk they were returning the movie to in the process. He destroys another kiosk later.
  • Race Against the Clock: The whole plot is about the turtles trying to return a DVD before midnight to receive hugs from Splinter.
  • Shout-Out: The Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever above is an obvious reference to King Kong.
  • Tempting Fate: Leo frequently declaring this their easiest mission ever is this.

"Bullhop"

  • Bait-and-Switch: Bullhop at first seems to be building up to become another foe who wants revenge on the Turtles, but being captured by the latter who then apologized and want to make up for what happened, changes his mind and becomes an ally.
  • Chekhov's Skill: Bullhop is great at Dance Dance Revolution, which ends up being useful when Big Mama's dance floor lights up like the game.
  • Irony: Bullhop pulls off the dance infiltration surprisingly well despite his usual clumsiness while the turtles end up making a scene
  • The Thing That Would Not Leave: Bullhop eventually overstays his welcome in the lair, much to the Turtles' consternation.
  • Villainous Crush: Big Mama becomes quite smitten with Bullhop as he distracts her with dancing. By the end, she’s saddened by his departure and is left holding his missing shoe.
