Recap / Rick And The Loud House Chapter 10 Toads Tiaras And Something Ricked

Go To

Between Lincoln prepping Lana for a beauty pageant and Leni getting new job at a suspicious antique shop, it's shaping up to be a HELL of a day for the Loud Family...

Rick & Morty episode: "Something Ricked This Way Comes"

Loud House Episode: "Toads and Tiaras"

  • Adaptation Deviation: After the whole "demon" incident, Lola ends up being banned from future pageants. This means any future episodes involving Lola's pageants will not be adapted at all. Then again, the Loud House side of the story is out of order, so it's possible the events of these future episodes happened earlier, depending on the point of view.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: While Mr. Needful was never a nice guy in Rick and Morty, he at least seemed to value Summer's friendship with him before becoming successful enough to "Zuckerberg" her. Here though, the moment Rick starts challenging his business, he fires Leni solely for being related to him.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: An enraged Lola transforms into a monstrous demon and grows a couple of feet big while attacking the pageant. It destroys her pageant career as a result.
  • Break the Cutie: Lola becomes devastated after realizing that her temper and subsequent rampage single-handedly annihilated all chances of her getting in pageants. She runs away in tears.
  • Continuity Nod: When Lola thanks Lynn Sr. for getting her the Princess Channel, he reminds her that the family now has Interdimensional Cable from the last chapter and can now watch whatever they want.
  • Cover Innocent Eyes and Ears: When Rick states that the microscope he got from Mr. Needful would have made him "retarded", Lincoln quickly covers Lana's ears. He even brushes her off when she asked what "retarded" even means.
  • Generation Xerox: It's pointed out by Lincoln that Lola's hot temper and jerkish attitude came from Rick, as he sees his enraged grandpa join Lana in beating the snot off Mr. Needful. Lincoln then joins them in the carnage as well.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Although the training montage from the original episode is omitted and Needful was still in his shop, Rick still beats him senseless in the end anyway as revenge for destroying Lola's career, joined by Lana and Lincoln.
  • Jerkass Realization: After the mess she caused after turning into a demon, Lola asks her family if they see her like that all the time. Their silence pretty much says "yes".
