Mordecai catches Pops naked by accident and uses a Japanese cartoon to erase the memory.
"Brain Eraser" contains examples of:
- And I Must Scream: It's revealed that the zombie-like video store cashier is this due to watching the Japanese cartoon. His chipper self is still in the dimension that Mordecai, Rigby, and Skips try to escape from. Despite being next to the exit, he prefers his zombie-like demeanour in the real world as he doesn't like his job.
- Bowdlerization: The Latin American airing is the only airing that edits this episode to remove Pops' nudity (mostly with blurring, alternate footage, and cropping/reframing different angles). Cartoon Network channels in America, the UK, and Australia don't edit this episode at all.
- Brain Bleach: The Japanese cartoon Mordecai rents works like this if you watch it all day, every day.
- Call-Back: When Rigby shows the buttcheek groove he's worked into the couch, one side is significantly deeper than the other, calling back to how he was the "One-Cheek Wonder" back in "Death Punchies"
- Censor Steam: In an arcade game where Mordecai first hallucinates two video game characters to resemble a naked Pops', his "junk mail" is hidden by pixelated clouds.
- Early-Bird Cameo: Eileen is seen for the first time, talking with Margaret about how strange Mordecai is acting.
- Fan Disservice: Naked Pops complete with his butt exposed.
- Freak Out: A horrified Mordecai has a major one when he sees Pops facing him while naked. He spends most of the rest of the episode traumatized and unable to forget about that sight in his memory.
- Freeze-Frame Bonus: When a naked Pops is shocked upon spotting Mordecai watching him, he grabs his hat to cover his crotch. He then takes his hand off it, and a split-second shot before cutting to Mordecai shows the hat staying in place on his crotch. That
presumably means that Pops was having an erection when Mordecai saw him naked. - Here We Go Again!: Mordecai, Rigby and Skips see Benson with his gumball dispenser open...
- Naked People Are Funny: Anytime Pops is seen naked.
- Nausea Fuel: In universe, a naked Pops is this for Mordecai.
- Our Nudity Is Different: Benson is wearing a towel out of the shower, even though he normally doesn't wear clothes. Then it falls off with dispenser flap completely open, which is framed as equivalent to Pops being naked.
- Playing Hard to Get: Mordecai rendered a zombie ignores Margaret's attempt to talk to him at the cafe. Margaret is surprised by this change in behavior but inexplicably finds Mordecai more attractive.
