Helped by his friends, Dion takes on Brayden in a final showdown. Meanwhile, Pat surives his experiment and wakes up, with powers of his own.

The Cast Showoff: Sammi Haney really gets to demonstrate her singing abilities here. - Book Ends: The last scene before the credits shows Dion once again performing heroics in his neighborhood before schooltime, just like he did in his first scene in ISSUE 201. This time, Nicole approves it.
- Defeat Equals Explosion: The death of the plant in the sinkhole causes a huge explosion.
- Evil Makeover: Pat in the post-credits scene is now wearing a black costume with a hood, and has dyed his hair blonde.
- Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: Inverted for Dion and Nicole; Nicole, being a Badass Normal, fights the plant monsters physically using her boxing skills, while Dion relies on ranged attacks and keeps his distance.
- Keystone Army: Dion injects the last of Biona's serum into the roots of the plants that the spores came from, killing it and restoring everybody infected by the spores back to normal.
- "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: Dion and Nicole both try this on Brayden. Nicole succeeds by reminding Brayden of his mother.
- Mama Bear: Nicole gets to put her new fighting skills to great use, fighting the plant monster army as the only non-superpowered person on Dion's side.
- Movie Superheroes Wear Black: Future Dion has an all black costume.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: In the post-credit scene, the visors of Pat's robots light up red when he orders them to attack.
- Sequel Hook: The Crooked Man lost again and Brayden will be taken care off, but now Pat has taken the crooked energy back on top of giving himself powers, and formed an alliance with David Marsh.
- The Show Must Go On: With Dion occupied fighting Brayden, Kwame takes his place for the solo. Dion insists to Jonathan and Esperanza that the musical must go on, since it will keep people inside the school where they're safe.
- The Stinger: There is a scene set after the credits, set at an unspecified time in the future where a now adult Dion confronts Pat and his robot army.
- Three-Point Landing: Adult Dion does this in the post-credit scene when he flies in to confront Pat and his robot army.
- When Trees Attack: The plant actively fights back against Dion's attempts to inject it with the serum, wrapping it's roots around Dion's ankle and releasing more spores.
