The newly empowered Void Queen sends out a monster to turn everyone in Pine Ridge to trees, unsettling Void Knight, while Ollie must deal with his own problem — his own overconfidence.

- Insufferable Genius: Ollie's really bad about it in the episode. Not just being pointlessly nasty to Amelia, he ignores her when she points out the vat of Squashblight venom he's got going is bubbling over, resulting in poor Solon being tree-ified. A conversation between him and his old professor reveals that he was always like this when he was younger, which made his fellow classmates not want to work with him. Fortunately, he gets better.
- Jerkass Ball: Ollie makes a pretty nasty sneer at Amelia for wearing a bracelet for New Age-y reasons. Even his old professor tells him he's being a jerk about it and calls him out for his behavior.
- Jerkass Realization: At the end of the episode, Ollie realizes how being a smug know-it-all nearly doomed the city and apologizes to Amelia for all the times he was an asshole about her beliefs in the past.
- Karma Houdini: The escaped octopus Jane and J-Borg chase after escapes them in a taxi and faces absolutely no recompense for its rampage.
- Multiple Head Case: Squashblight literally has jack-o-lantern faces for eyes and nose.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Said nearly verbatim by Void Knight when he sees the victims of Queen Void's plan and pushes him to aid the Rangers.

Ollie: [scoffs] What are you talking about?
Professor Jake Floyd: This attitude. You think you have all the answers, so you never listen. No one likes a know-it-all.
Ollie: What? I'm not like that.
Professor Jake Floyd: Tell that to the students at the academy. The truth is your attitude pushed them away. That's why you always ended up doing your experiments with me.
Ollie: What? No! People wouldn't work with me cuz they were jealous of my smarts.
Professor Jake Floyd: If you say so. - Revenge Before Reason: Void Queen destroys the space ship that could help them leave the planet as she wants to make humanity suffer for whatever happen in the past.
