"My very first toy review. See how far I've come since it all started."

Release: January 6, 2008

Redux Release: August 25, 2009

Tropes:

  • Deadpan Snarker: While not restricted to this review or the redux, it's weird, yet still pretty funny, seeing him snark to himself:
Past!TJ: "There had to be a more believable choice. What about a black R.I.D. Optimus? Great Titanium mold! How about a Beast Machines Ravage? Ravage always sells..."
Present!TJ: "How about talking about the toy you're reviewing?"
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: According to TJ's old website, the original goal of this series was to actually encourage audiences to buy toys that were arguably too unappreciated. As he said himself on the site "that direction changed quickly." This is arguably reflected in this review, where he says despite Menasor's shortcomings, he still enjoys the figure.
  • Establishing Character Moment: The Plastic Addict lives up to his name in the opening scene of him dusting his Classics Rodimus.
  • Establishing Series Moment: The opening sequence of him trying to get rid of Titanium Menasor establishes the type of review show Plastic Addict will be; even though, by recent requirements, Menasor wouldn't qualify for the series.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Addressed In-Universe, when Past!TJ demands to know what happened to the Titanium Skywarp that was announced but never released at the time:
Past!TJ: "How about the Skywarp you promised us but never delivered? How about that?!"
Present!TJ: "Okay, actually, they listened to me on that one!" note
  • Hypocritical Humour: At the end of the Redux, he states how Plastic Addict has changed since this review came out, claiming he doesn't pick on toys for their colors anymore...then proceeds to do just that to Titanium Menasor once again.
  • I Hate Past Me: TJ does this in the Redux, when he reviews this review. Due to complimenting the toy one too many times, he ends up disowning himself.
  • Self-Deprecation: See I Hate Past Me.
