We open on Lincoln, Lisa, Leni, Lucy, and Lola sitting on the couch. This time, they are going to be reading Model Brother.
The fanfiction opens on Lincoln selecting a pack of barbecue chips. Lynn approaches and asks him what he's doing, which the real Lincoln points out should be obvious. Then, the Louds realise that the story hasn't got an established setting yet. Fanfic Lincoln offers Lynn some of his chips, but she turns them down in favour of the "extreme" barbecue flavour. She begins eating, and Lucy notices that fanfic Lynn is eating one chip at a time, which she notes is odd for her. Lola claims that proper ladies eat things one at a time, but her siblings point out that she doesn't.
Fanfic Lincoln goes upstairs and hears scuffling coming from Lori and Leni's room, so he goes in to find the latter pacing nervously. He asks her what's wrong and she (in an oddly deadpan way) explains that she doesn't have the "flair" needed for her photo at the Royal Woods High Fashion Show.
Fanfic Lincoln notes that Leni's clothes look fine, but she replies that the other teens in the fashion show have gimmicks and she needs one of her own to gain likes. Lincoln wants help but is unsure what to do... so the real Lola suggests making dummy accounts and flooding fanfic Leni's profile with likes, to the shock of everyone else.
Fanfic Leni tosses a bunch of clothes on Lincoln, which gives her the idea of making him model clothes with her to look cute. He's reluctant because he's "not much of a model" (and the real Lincoln finds the idea embarrassing) but Lucy claims that anyone can be a model. Leni and Lola refute and say that modelling is very hard. Fanfic Lincoln reluctantly agrees to be Leni's model.
Meanwhile, back on the couch, Lisa notices that their expressions weren't described, and as the fanfic has Leni and Lincoln go to work, Lisa compares the fanfic characters' lack of expression to Lucy. Lucy points out that Lisa is also stoic and the two begin arguing until Lincoln interrupts.
In the fanfic, Lincoln and Leni dress up as a cowboy and cowgirl, while on the couch, Lisa continues to criticise the lack of emoting, accompanied by Lola. Then, fanfic Lincoln and Leni dress up like it's the 1910's. Then, finally, fanfic Lincoln dresses as a greaser (making the real Lincoln, plus Leni, nostalgic), while fanfic Leni wears a seafoam green blouse and poodle skirt with matching socks and shoes.
Later, fanfic Lincoln is playing video games, when Leni comes in, inadvertently getting his character killed but Lincoln doesn't mind. Their photos have won fifth place (but it's unknown out of how many). One of the comments calls Lincoln cute, which causes the real Leni and Lola to coo at Lincoln.
On the day of the fashion show, fanfic Todd and Richie tease Lincoln but apart from that, he's pretty popular, especially among the girl classmates and the boy classmates who have crushes on Leni. Rusty wants to help out, so Lincoln offers him the chance of helping Lisa with her experiments or Luan with her web series.
Todd and Richie are bitter and decide to "add something extra" to the fashion show. They go to Liam and offer to work for him for free, and he lets them. Then, we get a scene in the fanfic with Lincoln and Leni involving discussion of his new popularity that would be heartwarming except, much to Lisa's annoyance, it's also devoid of emotion. Fanfic Rusty, who's been working on Luan's podcast, runs out of the room being chased by Lisa, who he apparently promised an internal organ.
Over the past few days, fanfic Lincoln and Leni get ready for the fashion show, while Todd and Richie work shovelling manure, then they sneak backstage with a burlap sack... Lincoln and Lucy (the real ones) have caught on that they want to dump manure on Leni and Lincoln but wonder why they didn't just buy fertiliser.
Sure enough, they dump the manure on Lincoln, making Leni (the real one) mad and vengeful. Fanfic Leni walks over and hugs him, grossing out the real Leni. The real Lincoln and Leni start hugging and Lola wants a hug too, so she hugs Lisa.
Some time later, fanfic Leni, dressed as the Eleven of Hearts, takes Lincoln to a convention.
With the fanfic done, Lola starts hugging Lisa, Lucy leaves, and Leni, hugging Lincoln, imagines running the bullies over.

- Black Comedy: Lisa and Lucy find it kind of funny that fanfic Lincoln doesn't struggle in Leni's tight hug when he can't breathe; he just nonchalantly thinks, "I can't breathe."
- Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs: When Leni is wondering what the "something extra" is that the bullies want to add to the fashion show, she wonders if it's glitter, sequins, or glitter and sequins.
