  • Asshole Victim: It's hard to feel sorry for Schillinger when Keller manipulates him into his death.

  • And There Was Much Rejoicing: The prisoners are really happy when Schillinger dies.

  • Avenging the Villain: Jessica allows Hoyt to die to avenge Timmy.

  • Driven to Suicide: Keller kills himself when Beecher refuses to forgive him.

  • Disproportionate Retribution: Seamus tries to have Schillinger kill Neema out of pure jealousy. When Schillinger refuses, Seamus stabs Neema himself.

  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • Querns vomits when he sees Cyril's execution.
    • A particularly strange example with Howell. She is unwilling to have an abortion due to her Catholic beliefs, which didn't stop her from killing or raping men.

  • Evil All Along: Timmy's mother turns out to be a twisted woman.

  • Entitled to Have You: Keller seems to think he is owed a relationship with Beecher because he stopped the Aryans from killing him.

  • Forgiveness:
    • Brass admits everything that happened with Morales is his fault and tells Murphy he doesn't hold anything against him.
    • After Cyril's death, Ryan choses to patch things up with Seamus and let go of all his bitterness against him.
    • Averted with Schillinger who refuses to forgive Heinrick, even when he's on his deathbed.
  • Grand Finale: It's the final episode of the series, and wraps up most of the remaining character arcs and storylines.
  • Honor Before Reason: Arif confesses to McManus that Redding sabotaged his business, despite knowing it will turn all the other Muslims against him.

  • Heel Realization:
    • Heinrick apparetly regrets how he treated his son and wants to make peace with Schillinger.
    • Seamus has one after Suzanne gives him a brutal "The Reason You Suck" Speech and asks to see Cyril. Unfortunately, it's too late.

  • I Did What I Had to Do: After his sister gives him a picture of Jewel, Schillinger feels a bit guilty and tries to justify disowning her.

  • Kick the Dog: Brass shoots Vahue for no reason when Vahue has truly reformed and has done nothing towards Brass.

  • Karma Houdini:
    • Possibly for Governor James Devlin. It's not clear if he does get away with his various misdeeds or not.

  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Beecher has finally had enough of Keller's abuse and is therefore willing to get him sent to Death Row.

  • Morality Pet: Gloria is able to talk Ryan out of harming Seamus or perhaps even killing him.

  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Bismilla gives one to Arif for disgracing Said's memory.

  • Pet the Dog: Querns promises to keep McManus employed if he can.

  • Pay Evil unto Evil: McManus punches Johnson for his role in Glynn's murder.

  • Prisoner Performance: One of the plots in Season 6 is about the inmates at Oswald State Correctional Facility attempting to stage a production of Macbeth. In this episode, the play is staged, and Beecher uses a Not-So-Fake Prop Weapon to stab Vern Schillinger to death during the final act.

  • Reformed, but Rejected: Miguel has truly changed, but because Ruiz has it out for him, he will never get out of Oz as long he has say so.

  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: McManus agrees to to sweep the incident with Alvarez and the Aryans under the rug to give Miguel a better chance for his parole.

  • Took a Level in Kindness: Vahue seems to genuinely treat people well after his parole and Querns has become far more reasonable.
