Recap / One Hundred And One Dalmatian Street S 1 E 5 Walkies On The Wild Side

Go To

Dylan joins Fergus and the Canal Crew in an attempt to get in touch with his wild side.

This episode features examples of:

  • Chekhov's Skill: The lid surfing Dylan tries out in the first scene comes in handy to escape the Crazy Cat Lady's houseboat later.
  • Crazy Cat Lady: The lady the Canal Crew pranks with a Ding-Dong-Ditch Distraction has a lot of cats. Dylan later takes advantage of her bad eyesight to pretend to be a stray cat so he'll have somewhere to sleep for the night. Slightly subverted when it turns out she's just as happy to take care of a stray dog as a cat.
  • Ding-Dong-Ditch Distraction: Done as a prank by Fergus and the Canal Crew, though in this case, it's "Knock-Knock Ditch."
  • Fear of Thunder: Dylan has this, to the amusement of the Canal Crew. He lamely tries to claim it's because it freaks the pups out, not him.
  • Instant Thunder: During the thunderstorm, the lightning and the thunder always happen at the same time.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: When he's scavenging food with the Canal Crew, Dylan uses this to get a man to give him his hamburger.
  • Running Gag: Dylan ending up in the water and coming out with a lizard biting him.
  • Screams Like a Little Girl: Dylan does this when he sees a spider, much to Dolly's amusement.
  • Title Drop: Sid says the title of the episode when Fergus introduces Dylan to the Canal Crew.
  • "Walk on the Wild Side" Episode: Dylan asks Fergus to bring out his inner wolf to prove a point to Dolly, but quickly finds out that he's a) not cut out for the wild life and b) concerned for the younger puppies. Meanwhile, Dolly has trouble calming her little siblings down during a thunderstorm.
