Recap / One Hundred And One Dalmatian Street S 1 E 32 The Walls Are Alive

Go To

The puppies start disappearing one by one after Dolly accidentally causes a blackout.

This episode features examples of:

  • Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs: When Dolly tells the other puppies that it is a full moon.
Dolly: You know what that means!?
    Dante: Werewolves!?
    Dolly: Better! Sardines!
    Dante: Were-sardines!?
  • Brick Joke: When the puppies start playing Sardines, Dylan makes "discombobulate" the quit word. When Deepak disappears later in the episode, Dante starts saying "discombobulate" repeatedly.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Dawkins's Princess Positron doll. Dolly picks it up after he disappears, and she later uses its drawstring to turn off Constantin's fan.
  • Dwindling Party: The puppies disappear one by one until there's nobody left but Dolly.
  • Foreshadowing: Numerous points suggest where all the Dalmatians are being taken.
    • When suggesting possibilities on what is happening, Dolly suggests a cat (Granted, it is unintentional on Constantin's part).
    • When Dolly finds the other Dalmatians, when trying to figure out where they are, Deepak suggests "Enlightenment," which makes sense coming from Guru Miaow devotee Deepak.
    • Dylan sneezes, a sign that it's his feline allergies acting up.
    • Deja Vu detects a taste of fish, implying it's feline related.
  • Halloween Episode: Along with its sister episode "The Curse of the Ferrydog." This one is more overtly Halloweeny, with a full moon, pumpkins, spooky atmosphere, and puppies being kidnapped by ghosts.
  • Hates Being Alone: Deja Vu begins to panic, when Dallas and Destiny go missing, since she works better in a group.
  • Innocuously Important Episode: While initially seeming like an episode with no large significance on the Season One arc, this episode does establish that the air vents for both the Dalmatians' and Constantin's houses are connected, which Cruella and Hunter later use against the Dalmatians in "The Devil Wears Puppies."
  • Safe Word: Non-sexual version. When the puppies decide to play Sardines, Dylan wants a quit word. He suggests "discombobulate."
  • Scary Flashlight Face: Dolly does a bunch of grimaces with Dylan's blacklight torch after the lights go out.
  • Shout-Out: When the party is just Dolly and Deja Vu, and they are heading upstairs, the wallpaper resembles the carpet pattern from Stanley Kubrick's The Shining.
  • Skewed Priorities: Even when his siblings are disappearing into thin air, Dylan finds time to worry about bacteria stains he sees on the water bowls.
  • Vent Physics: How the Dalmatians find themselves in Constantin's house.
  • Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises: Triple-D do this out of fear before the wall moves for the first time.
