A pleasant weekend goes awry when a monster attacks.

Tropes:

  • Ambiguous Situation:
    • It's never made clear if or how much of Venomous's manipulative behavior to K.O. throughout the episode to get him to bring out T.K.O. is genuinely Venomous acting of his own free will, if/how much is due to Shadowy Figure influencing him, or if it was really Shadowy himself all along pretending to be Venomous (which isn't helped by the fact that, once T.K.O. enters Venomous's office, the latter appears to be Venomous but is actually shown to be Shadowy speaking through him). One of Shadowy Venomous's lines near the end ("All my efforts to bring you out of K.O. have led to this") does heavily suggest that Shadowy had at least some involvement in it, but it isn't specified to what extent.
    • Shadowy Venomous claims that he's the result of Venomous and Shadowy Figure coming to an agreement, but his Boss Subtitles seem to imply that something else is going on. His wording suggests the "agreement" entailed Venomous allowing Shadowy full control over their body because of the power it would give them, but this is never explicitly confirmed.
  • And I Must Scream: Remember how K.O. banished T.K.O. into his subconcious in "T.K.O. Rules"? T.K.O. returns the favor here.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: T.K.O. and Shadowy Venomous team up, seemingly leaving Boxman cut out of his partnership.
  • Blob Monster: Venomous makes Carl out of the same goo he used for the goo clones in "The K.O. Trap", in an attempt to make something nice and cute (or so he claims). Instead, Carl goes on a rampage, leaving innocent civilians stuck in his own goo.
  • Boss Subtitles: Shadowy Venomous has some very long ones:
SHADOWY VENOMOUS: Perfect Venomous, Venomous is GONE NOW, Shadowy Figure has overtaken Venomous
  • Department of Redundancy Department: Rad brags that their mission to the danger zone will give them a chance to punch flame-clouds, volcanos, and... flame-clouds.
  • Downer Ending: Both K.O.'s and Professor Venomous's Turbo sides (T.K.O. and Shadowy Figure, respectively) have performed a Split-Personality Takeover on their hosts, and have teamed up to Take Over the World together and wreak havoc.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Boxman looks unhappy and very uncomfortable in his office when he hears Shadowy Venomous's and T.K.O.'s evil laughter after their Villain Team-Up.
  • Face–Heel Turn: T.K.O. goes full-blown villainous, first by banishing K.O. to the subconscious in order to gain full control and then allying with Shadowy Venomous.
  • From Bad to Worse: Professor Venomous is bad but he at least has some redeeming qualities. His Turbo alter ego Shadowy Figure lacks any kernel of good, and combining the two (or, rather, SF taking over PV fully) brings the very malicious Shadowy Venomous to the figure. Then Shadowy Venomous gets T.K.O. onto his side, who has much more power and potential.
  • Heroic BSoD: K.O.'s It's All My Fault moment below leaves him in emotional turmoil, which unfortunately makes him vulnerable to T.K.O.
  • Irony: T.K.O. takes over K.O.'s body to fight Venomous/Shadowy, telling K.O. "This isn't a job for a hero, this is a job for me!" But just a few minutes later, T.K.O. is persuaded to join forces with Shadowy Venomous, and makes a Face–Heel Turn into an outright villain.
  • It's All My Fault: K.O. blames himself (using the trope name word-for-word) for the events of the episode, exacerbated further by Venomous saying that he didn't force K.O. to do anything. This leaves him vulnerable to a Split-Personality Takeover by T.K.O.
  • Make My Monster Grow: Professor Venomous throws a potion at Carl, claiming that it would stop him, but it makes him bigger instead. Venomous rather unconvincingly calls it a mistake.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Shadowy Venomous invokes this word-for-word with T.K.O. to get the latter to side with him by noting that now that they (T.K.O. and Shadowy Figure) are in complete control of their respective bodies, they've become the people they were "always meant to be".
  • Portmanteau: The so-called Perfect Venomous takes the names of his host body Professor Venomous and dominant personality Shadowy Figure, thus calling himself "Shadowy Venomous".
  • Split-Personality Merge: This is what "Shadowy Venomous" claims happened to make him "Perfect Venomous", but since "Shadowy Venomous" is basically just Shadowy Figure with the hood off and different coloring, it's implied that the "merge" is really just Venomous agreeing to let Shadowy control their body because of the power it would give them.
  • Split-Personality Takeover:
    • T.K.O. performs this on K.O. during the latter's Heroic BSoD, trapping K.O. in his own subconscious just like K.O. did to him in "T.K.O. Rules!".
    • While Shadowy Venomous at first seems like a merge between Shadowy Figure and Professor Venomous as a result of a "beautiful compromise" between them, it's pretty heavily implied that said "compromise" is Venomous willingly allowing Shadowy to take over the body in exchange for the power he gains from it. "Shadowy Venomous" is pretty much just Shadowy Figure (since he has his voice, facial appearance, hair, and outfit) with Turbo bracelets, palette-swapped clothes, and keeping his hood off, and his Boss Subtitles seem to confirm that this is the case as opposed to a true merged personality.
  • Take Over the World: Shadowy Venomous's We Can Rule Together offer to T.K.O. suggests that this is his goal.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Thanks to Fink letting Venomous know that Shadowy Figure exists within him, Venomous succumbs to his desire for power and reaches a "beautiful compromise" with Shadowy. He succeeds in bringing out T.K.O., and the two team up to Take Over the World.
  • Villain Team-Up: Shadowy Venomous and T.K.O. join forces as of this episode.
  • We Can Rule Together: Shadowy Venomous makes this offer to T.K.O. when proposing a team-up. T.K.O. accepts.
Shadowy Venomous: All my efforts to bring you out of K.O. have led to this. Join me, T.K.O. A new world awaits us. A world where we're in charge.
  • Wham Episode: T.K.O. finally escapes from K.O.'s subconscious and imprisons K.O. in retaliation, thus allowing him to take full control once again. Even worse, Professor Venomous and Shadowy Figure have apparently come to an agreement, thus merging into their own perfect form, Shadowy Venomous, and T.K.O. returns to his villain role from his debut, joining forces with Shadowy Venomous to wreak havoc upon the world.
