Recap / OKKO Lets Be Heroes S 2 E 21 Boxman Crashes

Go To

Lord Boxman crashes at Venomous' lair (though it's heavily implied that he's been hiding in Venomous' garbage and didn't even bother to stay at the other villains' lairs before he decided on Professor Venomous) and inserts himself into his villainous affairs.

Tropes:

  • Eyelid Pull Taunt: Boxman does this to K.O.
  • From Bad to Worse: For most of the season Boxmore was of little trouble and only then because of Boxman unwittingly influencing Darrell to continue villainy. Now Boxman has regained control, the Board are no longer holding him back, and Venomous has entered a partnership with Boxman, with the implicit threat being that he'll gladly enable Boxman's antics towards the Plaza while also ensuring that Boxmore avoids the consequences of his obsession like before.
  • Homoerotic Subtext: There is a lot of Ship Tease between Boxman and Venomous in this episode. Boxman makes himself right at home in Venomous' house, and clearly enjoys spending time with him. Toward the end of the episode, Venomous admits that he's been bored to tears with his career before Boxman came along and showed him how to have fun with his villainy. The two happily agree at the end to become official business partners, clearly relishing the opportunity to spend more time with one another.
  • Internal Reveal: Despite how much time has passed, Venomous just now learned that Boxman was fired from his own company by the Board of Villains and Darrell is running it now.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Defeating Boxman and Venomous ends up reigniting Venomous' passion for villainy so he and Boxman form a permanent alliance and become even more powerful. K.O. even says "Whoopsie!" at the end.
  • One-Person Birthday Party: Boxman admits that he goes go-karting by himself every year for his birthday.
  • Shout-Out: K.O's "Whoopsy!" is done very similarly to the "Toasty!" from Mortal Kombat.
  • Status Quo Is God: Venomous buys Boxmore from the Board of Villains and puts Boxman back in charge. Darrell is happy to give up his position and work for his father again.
  • The Thing That Would Not Leave: Venomous allows Boxman to live with him only for a few days but he immediately drives him insane by making his home a mess and destroying his entire lair when he accidentally destroyed his doomsday device.
  • Tranquil Fury: Despite Boxman destroying his lair and his doomsday device, Venomous managed to remain calm as he delivers a "Reason You Suck" Speech to Boxman, all the while giving off a bone-chilling Slasher Smile.
  • Went to the Great X in the Sky: Enid suggests that the reason she, K.O. and Rad haven't seen Boxman lately is because he went to the big cornfield in the sky.
  • Wham Episode: In a rather shocking reversal from what happened all the way back in "You're In Control" Lord Boxman regains control of Boxmore through Professor Venomous buying out the board of villains and the duo entering a partnership for the sake of villainy.
  • Winning Over the Kids: Boxman's (potentially romantic) interest in Professor Venomous is advanced by managing to impress Fink, who previously hated him, by creating a destructive vehicle for her to attack the plaza with.
  • Worth It: The first words out of Venomous's mouth after Fink's new Tricycle crashes into him and explodes after she uses it to attack the plaza:
"I loved every moment of that."
