Owen is off duty to recover from his surgery. Marjan loses a victim and is cancelled online for it.

- Boredom Montage: Throughout the week, Owen is shown using his recovery time towards several projects around his house, like repainting the bathroom, potting his plants, and putting together a puzzle TK and Carlos got for him. All of which are unsuccessful in alleviating his boredom at home.
- Cliffhanger: The episode ends with an unknown assailant knocking Owen unconscious, then shows Owen trapped in the burning building.
- Crime Spree Montage / Unfolding Plan Montage: Played With. When Judd, Charles, Grace and Tommy discuss their concerns about Owen’s boredom affecting his sanity while he’s on medical leave, Owen is shown visiting a hardware store and purchasing several items used in the previous night’s linen factory fire. It’s initially thought that he’s going out to commit arson… until he makes a makeshift wall in his backyard and, judging from his vindicated reaction to himself, recreated and made an experiment on how the arson played out. He later invites Billy over to explain his theory.
- Driven to Suicide: Brady’s widow McKenna tries to kill herself by cutting her wrists. Thankfully, Marjan and Paul were there to visit her to apologize and appeal to get uncancelled.
- How We Got Here: The episode opens with Owen getting arrested by the Texas Rangers, led by Gabriel. It then jumps back to the events of this episode, one week prior.
- Late to the Action: By the time Judd arrives with the 126 to the burning fabric factory, Owen has rescued two late-night workers. After he’s briefed on what Owen witnessed, Judd has to advise the man to leave the scene.
- Meaningful Look: TK affectionately dubs his boyfriend’s expressive gaze “the Carlos cow eyes”, much to the latter’s amusement.
- Meet The Inlaws: Carlos introducing Andrea and Gabriel to TK at dinner goes much better than their last few encounters, at least until he realizes he doesn’t have limes to make them margaritas.
- Messy Hair: Billy has grown his hair a few inches longer from last season, and it’s gotten quite disheveled.
- Must Have Caffeine: Billy has this to say about Owen’s attempts to spend his recovery time:Billy: Good God, New York. I got a triple espresso here and you’re still putting me to sleep.
- My God, What Have I Done?: When the chain holding up Brady’s truck snaps and causes it to fall and explode under the bridge, with Brady still inside, Marjan can only look on, distraught. After McKenna posts her below speech, resulting in a hate campaign against Firefox, this only worsens her guilt.
