While trying to win Durahan's favor, Mum Mew accidentally releases the mighty Shogun from his icy prison—a Monster who is said to be even more powerful than Durahan himself! She convinces him to attack the Searchers, but he is stunned at being unable to defeat them.
As it turns out, Shogun had lost most of his fighting ability and was reduced to a tool for the baddies. When Genki offers to befriend Shogun, he refuses—until he sees the group being attacked by Dinos. Shogun helps them defeat them and unleashes his true strength, renouncing his evil ways for good.
This episode contains examples of:
- The Cameo: Lilim cameos in the flashback portion, revealed to be the one responsible for freezing Shogun.
- Dirty Old Man: Shogun always goes after Pixie-type monsters, except Mum Mew (who is Mew/Pixie).
- The Dreaded: Shogun is said to be more powerful than Durahan, which scares the baddies greatly. It turns out to be subverted when he lost most of his powers and gets Double Subverted again when he unleashes his true strength.
