Recap / Martha Speaks S 5 E 16 Little Bos Sheep

Go To

Martha is banned from eating Mariella's blueberry muffins, so she goes outside to sulk, but finds a sheep in the yard. It enters, startling the female Lorraines, followed by a collie dog. Then, the sheep steals a dropped muffin and the collie chases it. The collie makes the sheep drop the muffin, and then everyone asks who the two are and what they're doing there. While the sheep tries to make off with the muffin, the collie explains (with Martha translating his barks) that he's lost a truck full of sheep.

We then see how it happened: he was on a farm, working as a sheepdog, and herded some sheep into a truck. However, after a while, one escaped to eat some flowers, the collie chased it, and the truck drove off, leaving the collie and the single sheep behind. Then, they searched for the truck and got lost, but entered the Lorraine house because they smelled the muffins.

Mariella promises to help the collie, whose name is Little Bo, find the sheep. She calls the police and animal control, but there aren't any reports of a lost herding dog. Meanwhile, the sheep keeps trying to eat random things. Then, Mariella, Martha, and Little Bo drive off to search for the truck, while Martha stays behind and watches the sheep.

Martha loses the sheep, finds it upstairs, and chases it all around the house. It finally stops when flowers appear on TV, then Helen and Little Bo arrive home. They reveal that they couldn't find the sheep and Mariella's at work now. Helen begins searching on her laptop, when Martha hears a woman say, "sheep" on the TV. It turns out that an ad for a sheep-herding contest is on in Wagstaff City. Helen searches it, and it turns out that Bo's sheep are being entered in the contest. However, they need to get Bo and the sheep (who's revealed to be a ram) to the fairground by noon, which is only in fifteen minutes.

Helen sets out on her bike, with the animals following, but then realises that it'd take five minutes too long. She decides to lead them through the school because it's quicker, but then the sheep starts eating someone else's flowers. Luckily, he eats them all quickly and they set off again, but then they come across a whole lot of flowers between them and the fairgrounds.

Martha then realises that the sheep gets distracted at the sight of flowers, so she grabs a towel and blindfolds him. It works, and the four of them reach the fairground. Bo's owner is grateful and gives them tickets, while Helen awards Martha with a blueberry muffin that's being sold at the fair.

Then, Helen reveals that the farmer let the Lorraines keep the sheep, much to Martha's disdain. Then, she starts losing her voice due to the sheep eating her soup... but it was all a dream.
