A 13-year-old girl (Piper Curda) is discovered to be pregnant but won't give up the name of her child's father. Suspecting she was raped, SVU investigates everyone in her friend group and household, including the son of a noteworthy political couple (Kyle MacLachlan and Paige Turco), and the son of their housekeeper. However, the politician's son soon ends up dead, and testing of his DNA reveals that not only was he the father of the girl's child, but that he and the housekeeper's son shared more in common that just a house...

- Bathroom Search Excuse: Benson asks to go to the bathroom as an excuse to look around Arturo's place.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Arturo is a sensitive, caring boy who is described as a sweet kid. He shoots his own half-brother.
- Camp Gay: The prostitute who found Tripp's credit card was "giving a tug-and-chug to some middle-aged breeder."Rollins: "Honey"?
Prostitute: Sorry. I get nervous, I get nasty. - Chekhov's Gun: "Mr. Cordova" whines that he was "banged around" in prison, developed inner ear issues and can't drive. When Ella accuses him, she says he picked her up in his car, exposing her claim as false.
- "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: This episode would've not had happen had Andrew not reacted so negatively to the news regarding Arturo being his son.
- Ella would not have fallen into Tripp's clutches if Arturo didn't take her to the party then left her alone to confront his father.
- Daddy DNA Test: Arturo does a paternity test on himself, comfirming he is Tripp's brother.
- Downer Ending: Tripp is dead and Arturo admits to the crime, having had enough of his abuse towards him and Ella, but reveals that most of all, he just wants Andrew to admit that he is, indeed, his son. Andrew is disturbed after witnessing Arturo's breakdown and confession, while his wife Kathleen angrily breaks things off over his secret affair that lead to this whole mess happening in the first place.
- False Rape Accusation: At Benson's prompting, Ella gives up her claim that God impregnated her and falsely accuses the Red Herring "Mr. Cordova", who was hiding a statutory rape conviction (he had sex with his girlfriend on prom night, two days before her 17th birthday) by living under a fake name.
- Good Cop/Bad Cop: Olivia threatens the flower shop clerk with what getting a subpoena would mean for his boss's tax records. Amaro convinces him to show them his sale records while promising it won't get back to him.
- Good Girls Avoid Abortion: The religious Ella refuses to get an abortion (paid for by Tripp's parents) and is dragged kicking and screaming into a car by her abuelita before SVU shows up to help her.
- Ironic Echo: Ella's mother became pregnant with her at 15, and her grandmother always told her not to follow in her footsteps.
- Law of Inverse Fertility: Ella becomes pregnant by losing her virginity to rape by Tripp on the Fourth of July.
- Like Father, Like Son: Tripp's predation of the lower-class Ella is not unlike his father's relationship with Arturo's mother, although the latter relationship (from what little we hear about it) appears to be somewhat consensual.
- Mystical Pregnancy: Ella's first explanation of her pregnancy is divine parthenogenesis (she claims not to have had sex and her hymen is intact ...)
- Smug Snake: Tripp, a smug 13-year-old politician's son, tells the detectives he was doing Ella a favor by drugging, raping and impregnating her.
- Teens Are Monsters: SVU assumes the man that impregnated Ella is an adult. 13 year old Tripp Raines drugged and raped her.
- "Well Done, Son" Guy: Arturo just wanted his father's approval and to be treated the samw way Tripp was treated.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: Arturo told Ella to run after he attacked Tripp under the bridge. We don't find out what will happen to Ella and her baby now that her rapist is dead.
