When The Hero became The Berserker...

Tassel: Bonne lecture, my friends~!
Having managed to save people turned into Megid, it looks like our Touma Kamiyama's on a roll!
But lest we forget, there's still a traitor lurking in the Sword of Logos!
The search, however, only leads to conflict with the other Swordsmen.
Surely there must be a better way to uncover the truth...

Touma and the others ask Tetsuo about the current state of the Southern Base, learning they cannot speak with Master Logos, and Reika is the one passing on the messages from him. Touma and Yuri are enthusiastic, deciding to infiltrate their way into the base. Meanwhile, Storious plans to invade the Southern Base in order to steal a forbidden tome for himself, resulting in the paths of the men colliding, only aggravated when Touma follows the trail of a mysterious guy who leads him to Storious holding the tome which is overflowing with something horrifying.

Episode Tropes:

  • Artifact of Doom: The book that Storious took from the Sword of Logos that would become the Primitive Dragon Wonder Ride Book. The fact that it seemingly possesses and corrupts Touma speaks volumes of just why Master Logos considers it forbidden.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: The usually cautious Legeiel throws common sense out the window in his quest for revenge against Touma, and continues fighting when its painfully obvious that Primitive Dragon is absolutely out of his league. Not even Storious telling him that can stop him.
  • The Berserker: In contrast to previous Berserker forms, which were a mix of Tranquil Fury and Combat Pragmatist, Primitive Dragon more or less reduces Touma to a feral, animalistic state a la FangJoker or PuToTyra. At one point, he wields the Rekka by the blade and not the handle.
  • Contrived Coincidence: It just so happens that Touma and Storious both had their own plans to infiltrate the Sword of Logos' Southern Base at the same time, leading to their encounter and subsequent conflict over the Forbidden Book.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Primitive Dragon utterly and completely manhandles Legeiel and Storious with little trouble whatsoever, with Touma tanking hits and continuing to advance.
  • Evil Is Visceral: The forbidden book has an actual spine as in few disturbingly realistic vertebrae attached to the side when the pages connect and its power takes shape of spine tentacle with three-part insect jaws at the end.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Played with. Storious was not expecting the forbidden book he stole to react to Touma and become a Wonder Ride Book.
  • Knuckle Cracking: Touma cracks his neck when putting Primitive Dragon Wonder Ride Book in SwordDriver.
  • Kubrick Stare: If you needed any other sign that Touma is not in the driver's seat anymore after being Mind Raped by the forbidden book.
  • Laughably Evil: Legeiel is enjoying himself even more than usual (e.g. waaay too much) while preparing to fight Touma prior to the appearance of Primitive Dragon.
  • One-Hit Polykill: Not the Megid generals, but rather the Wonder Riders and Saikou, who arrive to discover Touma in the midst of delivering a Curb-Stomp Battle. When Touma executes his finisher, the shockwave knocks them out of their transformations.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Or rather dark blue in this case. Upon gaining Primitive Dragon, Touma's eyes glow dark blue. And that's before he transforms properly!
  • Tome of Eldritch Lore: The forbbiden book that Storious stole from Sword of Logos. He even describes it so as a book of immense power that had been sealed ages ago for humanity's safety. It seems to be self aware to some extent as it opens when held by Touma and apparently transfers These Are Things Man Was Not Meant to Know directly into his brain.
  • Too Spicy for Yog-Sothoth: Storious had not expected the forbidden book to be so powerful that not even he, the head Megid, can control it.
  • Oh, Crap!: Touma using Primitive Dragon actually scares Storious.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Rintaro abandons his fight with Zooous to follow Yuri because he has a bad feeling about whatever was more important to the Sword of Light than stopping Zooous to get out of Primitive Dragon's way.
  • Power-Strain Blackout: What saves everyone from being beaten to death by Primitive Dragon. It's apparently extremely exhausting to use as Touma is knocked out of transformation and consciousness without killing anyone. The first time over anyways.

Tassel: My word! That new power Touma has obtained...
It seems no one is able to control it!
If this keeps up, what will become of Touma...?
