Failing to unlock the full potential of the Demons Driver, Olteca retreats and the demon residing within the Driver begins to act much more fluently than before. "My name is Vail, and it's time for me to return home."

Meanwhile, George is frustrated and confused over the fusion of Ikki and Vice. He also knows about the huge fire that broke out at Happy Spa years ago.

"Your future is decided by what you can learn from the past." Remembering these words spoken by his father, George begins to piece together hints about the Igarashi family.

Meanwhile, both Olteca and Aguilera are back, and their battle with the Igarashi siblings begin...

Tropes:

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Vail has no problem defeating the Gifftarians Olteca sent after him, even going as far to completely shatter a building's windows just to prove his point.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Tasuke is visibly horrified and disgusted at Professor Karizaki experimenting on Genta. Though Karizaki himself seems to have already been ashamed of it since.
  • Exact Words: When asked about the big reveal about Vice's contract with Ikki, the demon points out that A) It's Ikki who's revealing what happened, and B) He only now remembers it after Vail caused him to, thus making sure his promise not to reveal what happened is technically fulfilled.
  • Fighting from the Inside: It's only due to Genta's last minute intervention that Daiji and Sakura are spared from Vail's attack.
  • Gone Horribly Right: The experiment on Genta Igarashi that created Vail was intended to weaponize demons to make a Super-Soldier. Kamen Rider Vail succeeded...but is not only monstrously powerful, but in control of a psychopathic demon that is willing to destroy everything Genta cares about.
  • Go Through Me: Daiji and Sakura jump in to shield Ikki from Vail.
  • History Repeats: Episode 8 had Kagero possessing Daiji and attempting to kill Ikki, with Genta pleading and trying to stop him. This time, it's Vail possessing Genta attempting to kill the Igarashi siblings, with Ikki doing the pleading and trying to stop him.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: After Giff absorbs the essence of a few more Gifftarians, Lovekov goes berserk and attempts to attack Sakura.
  • Origins Episode: For Vail, Vice, and, in a sense, the Igarashi siblings.
  • Papa Wolf: Genta is just barely able to wrest control of his body back from Vail and cancel their transformation after the latter attempts to murder his children.
  • Tomato in the Mirror: The Igarashi siblings realize at the end of the episode that they're all essentially half-demon.
  • Traumatic Superpower Awakening: Vice first appears and makes a contract with Ikki in the wake of Vail destroying Happy Spa. The trauma is enough for Ikki to repress his memories of the incident until Vail forces him to remember.
  • Wham Episode: Fitting for 25th episode of the series that celebrates the 50th anniversary, this episode wastes no time dropping bombshell after bombshell.
    • 18 years ago, Ikki witnessed Genta (being possessed by Vail at the time) burning down the bathhouse. After Vail traumatized him, Vice (a nameless demon at the time) suddenly came to life, convincing Ikki to make a contract with him to protect his family. He quickly fell asleep at Vice's command, blacking out before Vail was about to make his move on Yukimi and Daiji as well as seeing how Vice stopped him.
    • Genta is actually an experimental subject Masumi Karizaki used to perfect the Vistamps. After being brought to Karizaki one day when he was dying, Karizaki proceeded to implant Giff's cells into his heart, which caused Vail to possess him and become Kamen Rider Vail. Thus, the reason why the Igarashi siblings can transform is because they are technically Giff's descendants.
  • Wham Line: George drops this bombshell on the Igarashi siblings at the end of the episode.
George: The reason why you three siblings can transform has been made clear.
    Ikki: We're...
George: Exactly. You three... are descendants of Giff.
  • Wham Shot:
    • Genta, or rather Vail possessing Genta, transforming into Kamen Rider Vail.
    • When Vail is transforming, a shot of a human heart is seen growing into Genta's empty chest cavity.
    • Giff reacting to the above with a loud groan and a wave of dark energy.
    • At the very end of the episode, Giff manifests a spectral hand, grabbing and devouring an unfortunate nearby Fenix researcher.
  • You Monster!: Or in this case, "You bastard!"note  Aguilera spits this at Olteca after he brings in two more Gifftarians after he promised not to make any more, with Olteca retorting that "deals are made to be broken."
