Go To

The main four are informed that they have lost their jobs and must have a job interview with Olaf to see if they can be re-hired or not.

"Let's Play Job Interview" contains the following tropes:

  • Black Comedy Animal Cruelty: The episode starts with Stumpy and Mr. Cat firing Quack Quack out of a cannon towards a bunch of sheep.
  • Cathartic Scream: Once everything clears up and the main four get their jobs back, Kaeloo pulls a pillow out of nowhere and screams into it.
  • Continuity Nod: Stumpy can't get to the interview by car since he still doesn't have a driver's license.
  • Evil Has a Bad Sense of Humor: Olaf tricks Kaeloo, Stumpy, Quack Quack and Mr. Cat into thinking that they've all been fired from the show, causing them great amounts of stress and worry, just so he can get a laugh out of it.
  • Foreshadowing: Olaf informs the main four that they have been fired from the show and must report for a job interview the next day to see if they can be re-hired. At one point, Mr. Cat questions the logic behind firing them and immediately hiring them again. It turns out that the whole thing was a "prank" by Olaf and the main four never got fired in the first place.
  • Genre Savvy: Stumpy is not stressed about his interview because they are in a comedy show and he's the comic relief, so he'll definitely be re-hired.
  • I Call It "Vera": Mr. Cat named his bazooka "Patience", of all names.
  • I Resemble That Remark!: In the waiting room, Mr. Cat, who is calmly reading a book, tells Kaeloo that she seems stressed. She responds by screaming "I HAVE NO REASON TO BE STRESSED!" in an extremely stressed manner and slaps the book out of his hands.
  • Literal-Minded: Stumpy thinks a question about "killing time" is him being interrogated for a crime.
  • My God, You Are Serious!: Olaf informs the main four that they have been fired. They start laughing, but he then reveals that he was sent by the management, so they realize that they actually have been fired.
  • Noodle Incident: Kaeloo says that Mr. Cat and Stumpy hurting the sheep at the beginning of the episode is probably why they got fired, since the management hates animal cruelty. Mr. Cat says that it's unlikely for the management to get upset about three sheep because he and Stumpy have "done much worse" in the past. Kaeloo looks unnerved by the revelation.
  • Piano Drop: Stumpy repeatedly has objects fall on his head from the sky to show that he is a Butt-Monkey and therefore should be re-hired.
  • Running Gag: Invoked. Stumpy makes objects fall on his head repeatedly to create a running gag.
  • Slasher Smile: Kaeloo and Mr. Cat have psychotic grins on their faces as they turn to Olaf to torture him.
  • Suddenly Shouting: Olaf does this to the main four.
Olaf: I have news of utmost importance for you, you, you, and you. All of you... ARE FIRED!
  • Terrible Interviewees Montage: The main four's job interviews. Kaeloo doesn't know how to answer the questions and randomly uses words in the hopes of making what sounds like an answer, Stumpy repeatedly says that he's the show's funniest character and has random objects drop onto his head from the sky to prove it, Quack Quack uses complex math equations and Mr. Cat resorts to telling Blatant Lies, bribing Olaf, and saying random office-related words.
