Jackie, Jade and Uncle succesfully escape Shendu's palace with half the talismans, ready to go to Australia and find the Book of Ages in order to restore reality. However, in order to do such a task, they need to gather the J-Team, which are scattered around the world, serving one of the demon sorcerers.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Beam-O-War: Viper with the Dragon Talisman against Bai Tza's water stream. Viper wins, but it doesn't matter, since Bai regenerates quickly.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Hsi Wu demands his prisoner Viper to sing him some music. He then starts hearing the sound of a flute, from the artifact intended to seal him.
  • Bookends: The beginning of the previous episode and the end of this episode has a shot of Jade's parents as she happily greets them.
  • Call-Back: When Jade teaches this timeline's Jackie martial arts, she uses the same teachings he taught her during the series.
  • Cyborg: Jade uses the Book of Ages to turn Viper into this. She promptly blasts Bai Tza with an arm cannon.
  • Designated Girl Fight: When the J-Team fight the remaining demons, Viper, the only adult woman on the team, fights Bai Tza, the only female demon left standing.
  • Dragon Rider: Shendu, despite being a dragon himself. The fact that Jade stole the rooster talisman forced him to rely on one of his dragon minions for travelling.
  • Evil Laugh: Shendu's three siblings that accompany him to the last stand (Tso Lan, Dai Gui, and Bai Tza) give off epic ones after Shendu blasts Uncle's sealing spell ingredients and before they start chasing the J-Team into the Book of Ages fortress.
  • Gladiator Games: Xiao Fung seems to like these.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard:
    • Po Kong's salt mine has someone use a drum (the item that sealed her in the first place) to keep the rhythm of the slaves at work.
    • Xiao Fung, of all people, lets Paco use a fan (the item that sealed him in the first place) on him, leading to an easy sealing thanks to the Chan's. Granted it could be excused that he felt there was no way anybody could remember the sealing spell, but still.
  • I Never Told You My Name: Jade's the only one who remembers the "proper" timeline, so when she rounds up the J-Team, they're surprised that she's familiar with them.
  • Magic Carpet: Jade creates one using the rooster and rabbit talismans to escape from Shendu's palace. This is how they travel the world and gather the J-team.
  • Non-Nude Bathing: For some reason, Hsi Wu is keeping his loincloth on when he's bathing.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • The heroes when Shendu fries the bag carrying the Immortals' artifacts, making it impossible to reseal the remaining Demon Lords.
    • Then it's the demons' turn when the heroes prepare to banish them again.
  • Putting the Band Back Together: Jade brings together the J-Team's bad timeline counterparts.
  • Rewriting Reality: When they're unable to find Shendu's changes and the J-Team has been defeated by the remaining demons, who them corner the survivors in the Book of Ages' room, Jade then decide to use the Book to make Jackie giant, turn Tohru into a superhero and Viper into a Cyborg. Then Jade and Paco go back to their "Jackie"/"El Toro" fight before Uncle tells them to write how Uncle saves everyone from danger.
  • Running Gag: Subverted. Whenever Paco is about to start the usual "El Toro is better than Jackie" argument, Jade replies with a "not now". At least until the end of the episode.
  • Took a Level in Badass: The bad timeline's Jackie starts out submissive and easily intimidated, but by the end, he's gotten almost as badass as the true Jackie.
    Jackie: Bad day... for demons.
  • Villain World: Like in the previous episode, but this time we take a brief look at the other demons' domains:
    • Po Kong has her human slaves to prepare food for her constantly and forces them to work on salt mines, threatening to eat them if they fail their tasks. Tohru is in this domain.
    • Xiao Fung has a castle in the middle of a desert and is entertained by Gladiator Games. El Toro is one of the gladiators, while Paco is Xiao Fung's personal fan slave.
    • Hsi Wu lives at the top of a huge tower, with Viper as his personal slave.
