This arc contains examples of:

• Be Careful What You Wish For: Gladion secretly wants to redo his Train Trip and truly get better but doesn't believe that will happen. Cue Elipzo kidnapping him.
• Big "NO!": The boy who wants to challenge Gladion in a battle screams this when Gladion refuses.
• Bookends: The story begins and ends at Gladion the beach in contemplation before walking off and then being uenxpectedly whisked onto the Train.
• Bound and Gagged: Minus the gagged part, but Gladion, Specter and Tokio have rope cover their arms and legs and are stuck in a moving truck.
• Double Take: Gladion looks in alarm when he and Tokio are in a truck with Specter, because it is near impossible for him to be in the Pokémon world.
• Framing Device: The entire story was a video being watched by a mysterious figure.
• Happy Ending Override: Bittersweet Ending it was, the story still ended somewhat fine: Gladion and Tokio went back home, so did Specter, and while London and Easter are still on the Train, they were gonna be okay by the time Voyage of Wisteria takes place. Then this chapter happens and all of them end up being forcibly taken back to the Train by the work of this world's version of Elipzo.
• Oh, Crap!: Gladion has this when the boy who wanted to challenge him for a WCS battle knows about his Train trip.
• Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Gladion decides to not humor the kid who wants to battle him in a WCS certified battle.
• Time Skip: The chapter takes months after Voyage of Wisteria.
• Waxing Lyrical: As Gladion leaves the kid, he quotes, "Have a very merry future and a bye-bye Billy Goodbye".
• Wham Line:
  • When Gladion tries to leave, the boy throws a tantrum until...
    Boy: You were never the type to accept everything. Even on the Train, Gladion Montblanc.
  • The last line that signals that there is more to this epilogue.
