Original airdate: November 18, 2023

Cell and Freeza get stuck in the dinner party from hell organized by King Cold, where they get to speak with the representatives of their neighboring HFIL, Cooler and Bojack.

Tropes:

  • Adaptation-Induced Plot Hole: Cell suddenly gaining the ability to use Instant Transmission after regenerating from his self-destruction despite it requiring the consumption of Yardrat flesh in this continuity is lampshaded after Bojack reveals that they previously met.
Cell: You know, I still don't know how I learned how to do that.
  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Jeice rubs Guldo's head when praising him for a job well done.
  • Animation Bump: The scene with Cell and Freeza in the hallway suddenly shifts to have a higher frame count, with the character acting also being a lot more bouncy and animated compared to the prior scenes. This is most evident when Cell leaves the scene, he slides out with a cartoony step sound effect.
  • Art Shift: Bojack's flashback to the time he tried conquering Earth briefly switches to 2D animation, showing clips from his movie.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Jeice is scolding Burter and Recoome for their incompetence in the kitchen. At first, it looks like he's going to scold Guldo when the latter reports that the appetizers have been served as well, but instead he commends him for a job well done.
  • Bonding Over Dislikes: Subverted. Cell and Freeza share a moment of bonding in the hallway where they grumble about the prick at the table, with Freeza believing that Cell is also talking about Cooler. However, Freeza realizes that Cell is referring to Bojack when Cell grumbles about his pirate motif.
  • Call-Back:
    • When Freeza corrects Cell about Cooler being his brother instead of his ex-lover, Cell says "I don't judge," which is what he said when he first met Goz and Mez, confused about whether they were brothers, lovers, or both.
    • Cell tells Bojack to shut up after accidentally freeing him from King Kai's planet, much like King Kai did back whenever he was heard.
  • Change the Uncomfortable Subject: When King Cold clarifies that Cell had killed both Trunks and Goku, Freeza is left agape with shock. Bojack tries to smooth things over by wanting to tell the dinner party the time he got punched by a ghost, though none of the residents take, calling the air "stifling" in the process. Goz and Mez then notice that the stifling air is actually smoke, because the Ginyus accidentally set the house on fire.
  • Continuity Nod: Bojack pronounces Earth as "Ee-arth," much like King Cold and the Saiyans unfamiliar with the planet do.
  • Conversation Cut: After Cooler and Bojack reveal themselves, King Cold them notes everyone will likely have questions, which they can discuss over dinner, the scene cutting between them at the arena and the dinner table at the ogres' place. Except they're having dinner a few minutes after they left the arena, with Freeza confused at King Cold's sense of timing.
King Cold: I'm sure everyone has plenty of queries, but you'll all have a chance to ask them over—
(scene cuts and zooms-out to show the dinner table at Goz and Mez's house)
    King Cold: —Dinner!
    Freeza: …it's 10 A.M.
  • Delayed Reaction: When Cell and Freeza are griping about the other HFIL residents, it takes Freeza a moment to realize that they are talking about two different people, Bojack and Cooler respectively.
Cell: And we get it [Bojack], you're a fucking pirate.
Freeza: And [Cooler] is just so smug about it, and— we're talking about two different people.
Cell: Who were you talking about?
    Freeza: Cooler!
  • Double Entendre: Zarbon is just full of them during the dinner, much to the exasperation of Goz and Mez, who insist he's "backsliding". Zarbon tries to make one of that, as well, only to be angrily ordered to leave.
  • Everyone Has Standards: While King Cold treats Cooler as The Unfavorite, he's shocked when Freeza calls Cooler a prick behind his back.
  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: After Bojack gets a frosty reception from the dinner table, he weakly says to himself "aye, the air do be stifling." Goz then notices how he feels warmer than usual, wiping sweat off his brow, while Mez gets up and starts smelling the air. When he realizes it's actually the smell of smoke, Jeice kicks open the kitchen door, yelling how a fire has spread throughout the ogres' home. The video even has a slight greyish tint as soon as Bojack notes how the air is stifling.
  • Forgiven, but Not Forgotten: Despite the Ginyus and Cell apologizing to each other at the end of episode 6, Guldo doesn't seem to have forgiven entirely as he leaves a post-it note reading "Asshole" on Cell's back when he brings in the appetizers.
  • Forgotten First Meeting: Cell and Bojack briefly interacted immediately after the former blew up King Kai's planet, though Cell had completely forgotten since he had just finished regenerating from blowing himself up and teleported back to Earth immediately afterwards.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus:
    • The title card and thumbnail of the video shows Cold leading Freeza, Cooler, Cell, and Bojack in a toast. Bojack's glass is already mostly empty, befitting a hard drinking pirate.
    • When Guldo freezes time to put out the appetizers, he sticks Cell's back with a piece of paper with "Asshole" written on it.
    • King Cold is seen smirking as Freeza realizes Cell killed Goku, suggesting that his reveal wasn't as inadvertent at first glance.
  • Hold Your Hippogriffs: Cooler says his favorite holiday is Boxing Day because it means that he doesn't have to hear about his brother for another Yemmanote  forsaken year.
  • Immediate Sequel: The beginning of the episode overlaps with The Stinger from episode 9.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: When offered a bottle of wine by Dodoria, Cooler, already sick and tired of Freeza, snatches the bottle out of her hands and downs it. Cell similarly asks Zarbon to top him off after burying his face in the table, annoyed when King Cold confirms that Spacegiving is just Thanksgiving in space.
  • I Need to Go Iron My Dog: When Cell and Freeza find the dinner too stifling and uncomfortable, they both excuse themselves by loudly proclaiming they need to pee. While they initially used it as an excuse, Cell finds that he actually does need to pee, deciding to do his business in the bushes instead.
  • Internal Reveal: Freeza finally learns that Cell managed to kill Goku and Trunks during the dinner.
Cell: I know how you two ended up here, but how'd [Cooler] bite it?
Freeza: In a pathetic attempt to imitate me.
King Cold: Yes, actually. He was felled by the same brute who humiliated my princess.
    Freeza: [Annoyed] Father.
    Cell: Which one?
    Freeza: [Annoyed] F[Bleep]k you!
King Cold: Oh, I'm bad with names. Uh, the one who can turn his hair gold.
Cell: Not really narrowing it down.
    Freeza: [Annoyed] Grr...
King Cold: Right, right... Um, the one you killed.
    Freeza: [Shocked] What...?
    Cell: Again, which one?
    Freeza: [Shocked] WHAT!?
King Cold: [Ponders for a moment] Goku! That was his name! [Laughs and then gives a sigh of relief] Glad we got that settled.
[Cut to Freeza quivering in shock while Cell stares at him smugly]
  • Mistaken for Incest: Cell has no idea who Cooler is and why Freeza is so upset about him, with his first guess being that they're ex-lovers. After Freeza corrects him that Cooler is his brother, Cell, still under the impression that Cooler is Freeza's ex (or alternatively, based on his grin, he was just trolling Freeza), says "he doesn't judge."
  • Mundane Utility: Guldo uses his ability to freeze time to quickly pass out appetizers. He also takes the opportunity to leave a post it note with "Asshole" written on it on Cell's back.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Cooler's first line in this Episode has him mention how he thought that "the Big Gete star enabled [him] to cheat death", in reference to a certain memetic line from Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 heard after Meta Cooler is defeated in battle.
    • Bojack describes being freed from King Kai's planet as being "Unbound", which stems from the English subtitle of his movie.
  • Noodle Incident: Bojack's death turns into this. Before he can properly explain what happened before he conquered Earth, he is suddenly cut off by Guldo when he's about to explain, as his movie was never adapted. The only things the audience knows is that he found his crew, went up to Earth, got killed by a "sprog" (Gohan), and was punched by a ghost (Goku).
  • One Dialogue, Two Conversations: Cell and Freeza rant to one another about Bojack and Cooler, their complaints vague enough that neither realizes who the other is talking about until Cell notes Bojack's Talk Like a Pirate shtick.
  • Pet the Dog: Jeice praises Guldo for serving the dishes on schedule, in contrast to how he admonishes Burtur and Recoome for their incompetence in the kitchen.
  • Relative Error: Cell, unsure of who Cooler was and why Freeza is so upset about him, guesses that he is his ex-lover, which Freeza loudly corrects he's his brother. Cell says that he "doesn't judge."
  • Retcon: Originally, Lanipator stated when announcing the cancellation of the Bojack Unbound adaptation was that Bojack died when King Kai's planet was destroyed. Here, it's changed to reveal that he did indeed survive the destruction and was killed by Gohan in the same way he died in his movie.
  • Seinfeldian Conversation: King Cold invoked this, looking to break the ice between the other ambassadors of the HFILs. He however doesn't bring up a topic, but politely and passive aggressively gets Goz and Mez to do it instead. After some nervous stuttering, the two bring up how Halloween is coming up, and that it's their favorite Holiday. This leads to a brief debate between everyone present about their favorite Holiday.
  • Shout-Out: Bojack's first words upon gaining his freedom are "After 1000 years, I be free! Time to conquer-" before being interrupted by Cell regenerating.
  • The Stinger: Raditz spots Cooler going into the garage, only for him to disappear. Then we see Guru still at the stadium because everyone left him there. In an attempt to get back to the cul-de-sac, Guru ends up falling down the stairs.
  • Stunned Silence: When Freeza learns that Cell killed Goku and Trunks, he lets out an astonished "What?" and is left staring wide-eyed for the rest of the dinner.
  • Uncertain Doom: While Bojack was clearly killed due to his presence in the afterlife, the fate of his crew is left unclear due to him constantly getting cut off when he tries to tell his story.
  • The Un-Favourite: Cooler comes off this way, as their father is clearly harder on him than Freeza.
  • Villainous BSoD: Freeza's ultimately left in one of these after the Internal Reveal, being blunt in both his declining of King Cold's invitation to tour the other HFILs, and his declaration that he's had enough family time.
