Chapter 17: Unleashing
Nyarai and Adelgund about to engage one last time in the Masato match.
Adelgund has lost all of her fans after crippling Peki in the previous match. Meanwhile, Nyarai has recovered from her injuries and is ready for the second round. While Adelgund still holds the upper hand in terms of brute strength, that turns out to be meaningless when Nyarai unleashes her true power.
- Abnormal Limb Rotation Range: Nyarai breaks her own spine to escape Adelgund's hold and then sets it in place. She continues to twist herself in place for a few pages to show that she's immune to any Grapple Move Adelgund throws at her.
- Always Someone Better: Adelgund states that her favorite part about furry fighting is the possibility of fighting a bigger predator. Said predator at the moment is Nyarai, who's about to give her the final blow.
- Antagonist Abilities: Nyarai's flexibility gives her an edge against most Combagals who rely on grappling to fight. As demonstrated by Adelgund, the only way to beat Nyarai is to overwhelm her in a striking battle, which is hard to do since it's her specialty.
- Ax-Crazy: The chapter shows Nyarai at her most violent yet as she enjoys the opportunity of showing her true strength for the first time.
- Blood Knight: Nyarai is deeply enjoying herself in her fight with Adelgund, especially when she uses her Leg-Jet Burst.
- Body Horror: Nyarai's body takes horrible poses when she twists herself to taunt Adelgund.
- Calling Your Attacks: Just like Adelgund, Nyarai shouts the name of her Leg-Jet Burst upon using it.
- Combat Sadomasochist: Nyarai doesn't mind getting hurt as long as she gets to hurt her opponents back. She's even willing to let them have a chance to hurt her via her earrings or testing their techniques on her.
- Contortionist: Nyarai's Abnormal Limb Rotation Range allows her to twist her body in ways that are mostly impossible to others and border on Body Horror to some people.
- Crocodile Tears: Nyarai sheds insincere tears when she snaps her own spine just to mess with Adelgund.
- Curb Stomp Cushion: While Nyarai did defeat Adelgund after using Leg-Jet Burst on her, she did take a while to paralyze her arms in order to give the final blow. Additionally, during the first half of the match, Adelgund got the upper hand in a striking battle, withstanding a kick and countering with a blow that sent her to the canvas.
- Dramatic Dislocation: Nyarai shows her Abnormal Limb Rotation Range by snapping her own spine to escape Adelgund's hold and then popping it in place. Most people actually think Adelgund fatally hurt her and Adelgund is horrified until Nyarai clarifies that she's okay.
- Elemental Punch: When using Leg-Jet Burst, Nyarai's kicks are covered with fire and make blasts upon impact with Adelgund.
- Extremity Extremist: Shun points out that Nyarai's legs are her specialty and greatest weapons.
- Face–Heel Turn: Cookie points out that Adelgund's brutal treatment of Peki in the previous chapter has turned her into a Heel in the eyes of many. Adelgund is aware of this and refuses to tag Muko in to prevent her from having her Face reputation tarnished by associating with Adelgund.
- Finger Gun: Nyarai uses these gesture with Adelgund with both hands, even shooting her with sound effects.
- Finishing Move: Adelgund's Spine Breaker is implied to be this by the Exe-Cutie-Ves based on their dialogue when she uses it on Nyarai.
- Forced to Watch: Even after watching what Adelgund did to Peki, Muko still wants to tag her in to save her from Nyarai. Adelgund refuses to prevent Muko from getting hurt so Muko has to watch as Nyarai severely wounds Adelgund throughout the chapter until she puts her down at the end of it.
- Get Over Here: Nyarai invokes this on herself, using her earrings so that her opponent can pull her towards them. She doesn't mind getting hurt if she can repay them.
- Having a Blast: Nyarai's final kick from Leg-Jet Burst creates a point blank explosion on Adelgund's face that breaks her jaw.
- Heel Realization: Adelgund has one shortly after her Face–Heel Turn upon hearing Muko's intentions to tag her in and her belief that she's a good person. Realizing that she failed her ideals of justice, Adelgund lets Nyarai defeat her to show her the true meaning of furry fighting.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Adelgund refuses to let Muko to tag her to save herself as she knows Muko will get injured by Nyarai now that she's going all out and she doesn't want her to become a Heel by partnering up with her. She takes the last blow to teach Muko what it means to be a Combagal.
- I Am Not Left-Handed: Nyarai's fighting style she used against Muko in Chapter 14 and Adelgund in Chapter 15 is not her real fighting style. As demonstrated here and implied in previous chapters, she's a Kick Chick with an aggressive focus.
- The Immune: According to Nyarai, her Abnormal Limb Rotation Range means that she's immune to any Grapple Move thrown at her. This means that the only way to beat her is a striking battle, which is her specialty.
- Invisible Means Undodgeable: Downplayed with Leg-Jet Burst. Nyarai's kicks are so fast that they become invisible blurs. However, Adelgund saw the first kick before getting hit and she made a sturdy defense with both arms even if she couldn't dodge the test.
- Kick Chick: The chapter cements Nyarai's status as a kick-user, as she uses nothing but kicks and her Signature Move is a barrage of kicks.
- Mood-Swinger: Nyarai shows the ability of changing her expressions quickly, either for acting or to express her sadistic desires.
- Mood Whiplash: The first page of the chapter is a funny, albeit slightly lewd, commercial from Snuggly, that lightens up the mood after the dark tone that was set up at the end of the previous chapter and gets darker in this one.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Adelgund is deeply ashamed of herself when she thinks she killed or crippled Nyarai with her Spine Breaker technique.
- Oh, Crap!: Adelgund's face contorts in horror when Nyarai uses Leg-Jet Burst on her and she sees the cheetah's foot less than a second before the impact of the first kick. Adelgund is forced to stand in defensive position just delaying the inevitable.
- Pet the Dog: Muko attempts to tag in Adelgund to save her from Nyarai despite what she did to Peki because she believes that she's a nice person.
- Playing with Fire: Nyarai's kicks when using Leg-Jet Burst are covered with fire.
- Rebuilt Pedestal: Thanks to her performance against Adelgund, Peki recovers her former fame. She doesn't get to enjoy it though as she's in a lot of pain from having three broken limbs.
- Troll: Nyarai pretends to be hurt by Adelgund's Spine Breaker, even shedding Crocodile Tears and overreacting. She then reveals she was kidding.
- Undying Loyalty: Despite Adelgund's actions in the previous chapter, the Exe-Cutie-Ves are still loyal to her, even blaming Peki for her condition.
- Worthy Opponent: To Nyarai, Adelgund is someone worth using her true strength. To Adelgund, Nyarai is someone worth succeeding her as a champion.
