Cave Guy and Cobra Queen have joined forces to obtain the Diamond Hat of the Czars, while Freakazoid tries to learn telekinesis with Roddy. However, due to his mental instability, Freakazoid ends up hitting himself in the face repeatedly with bricks, developing a phobia of them in doing so. At the same time, Cosgrove joins the reality show Real Life Police, who follow him around to see how he operates.

Tropes in this episode:

  • Batman Gambit: For the theft of the Diamond Hat of the Czars, Cave Guy and Cobra Queen rely on her reputation for having a sewer lair. While everyone searches the sewers for the stolen property, the villains stash it at a long closed theme park. It works, until Joe rats them out.
  • Biting-the-Hand Humor: Roddy warning Freakazoid that networks are fickle and can drop a show without warning.
  • Captain Obvious: Based on Freakazoid's description, Roddy surmises that he can only access his telekinetic powers when he's angry.
Freakazoid: Then I'll only use them when I'm really angry.
Roddy: THAT'S WHAT I JUST SAID! CAN YOU HEAR, OR IS THERE A GOBLIN IN YOUR HEAD EATING MY WORDS?!
  • Continuity Nod:
  • Deus ex Machina: As Cosgrove and Roddy search the sewers in vain, they come across a note from Joe telling them where the Diamond Hat of the Czars was actually hidden. Joe insists he did this to prove he's more than just a booming voice, but the others accuse him of just padding his part.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: Freakazoid questions the point of learning a power that thus far has only resulted in him hitting himself in the head with a brick.
  • First-Name Basis: During their date, Cave Guy and Cobra Queen address each other by their real names (Royce and Audrey, respectively).
  • Hypocritical Humor: After Freakazoid ends up in the hospital, Roddy blames himself for pushing him too hard. He says he's learned to keep his temper in check, only to yell at the camera crew for filming this conversation.
  • Lampshade Hanging: Cave Guy points out it's not sporting for Joe to give away plot-points.
  • Nice to the Waiter: Cave Guy threatens to rip a waiter in half if a poor meal is not taken away, but he's otherwise completely polite. As he says, he is "friendly but never familiar" with the help.
  • Reveal Shot: The camera guy recording Cosgrove runs after him during a chase, but due to the distance and heavy equipment, he passes out from exhaustion. We later see the guy is out of shape, as well.
  • Show Within a Show: Cosgrove is followed around by a crew for Real Life Police.
  • Skyward Scream: Cosgrove, Roddy, and the camera crew try hiding from a giant snake in the little teacup ride, which naturally fails. When Roddy says there's no overhead cover, Cosgrove says he picked this spot because he just liked the ride.
    Roddy: CRRRRRUUUUUUDDDDDDDDD!
  • The Stinger: "By the soiled trousers of Argus!"
  • Unholy Matrimony: Cave Guy and Cobra Queen. At end of the episode, despite being defeated, in the prison van Cobra Queen has her eyes complemented by Cave Guy showing the two are still very attracted to each other.
  • Villain Team-Up: Cave Guy and Cobra Queen team up for a heist, but it quickly proves romantic, as well.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: When it's all over, Cosgrove tells the Real Life Police crew that they've been through a lot together and then immediately tells them to go away.

"By the soiled trousers of Argus!"
