Frasier inadvertently has sex with Roz, who instantly rushes to her family in Bloomer, Wisconsin while Niles is desperate for Gertrude to leave both him and Daphne alone.
Tropes:
- Bedmate Reveal: Frasier wakes up the morning after Daphne's birthday and the camera pans over to reveal Roz next to him.
- Comeback Tomorrow:Martin: How come you can fly to Hawaii but you can't fly to England?
Gertrude: How come you can drive your car but can't do your own laundry?
Martin: ...Have a good trip.
(later, in the car)
Martin: "I can't do my own laundry because I can't carry the laundry basket and my cane at the same time." That's what I should have said! - Cringe Comedy: Frasier and Roz are really awkward about their night of passion together.
- It's All About Me: Gertrude spends Daphne's birthday moping about being separated from her husband and complains that nobody cares how she feels. Roz isn't much better, mentioning her recent break-up with Roger several times.
- Make a Wish: After her mother makes a scene during her birthday party Daphne stomps back over to her cake and relights the candle.Niles: What are you doing?
Daphne: I want to change my wish. - My God, What Have I Done?: Frasier is ridden with guilt for having sex with Roz.
- Obviously Not Fine: Roz repeatedly insists she's "fine" after sleeping with Frasier, but also runs out of the apartment on a flimsy excuse and then heads to Wisconsin early to avoid him.
- Robot Dog: Frasier buys Martin an AIBO to keep him occupied while everyone else is away. The end credits show the AIBO doing a series of tricks which Eddie copies until he gets fed up and knocks the robot over.
- Spotting the Thread: Martin immediately knows Frasier and Roz slept together because her purse was still on the coffee table in the living room the morning after Daphne's party.
