Recap / Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends S6E3 "Pranks for Nothing"

Go To

With the house being fumigated due to a termite infestation, the residents have to spend the night in a hotel. Bloo's hyperactive and spendthrift behavior annoys his roommates (Eduardo, Coco, and Wilt) so much that they pull a prank on him just to shut him up. When Mr. Herriman discovers that Bloo has been running the bill up against his explicit instructions, he locks Bloo in a janitor's closet, but not before Bloo swears revenge on his ex-roommates, starting a prank war.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Adapted Out: Mac is nowhere to be seen.
  • Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better: Every time Bloo tries to pull a prank, his opponents pull the same one on him first—mostly because he's too busy monologuing about what a genius he is.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Bloo thinks that Coco is the mastermind behind the pranks pulled on him. It's Wilt.
  • Big "NO!": Bloo gives one when he sees that a bucket prank he's about to pull on Coco is about to hit Mr. Herriman instead, necessitating his leaping in the way before it can make impact. And it wasn't even the real Mr. Herriman.
  • Detrimental Determination: Bloo is obsessed with pulling a prank on his ex-roommates, when simply giving up and going to sleep was always an option.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Defied with a vengeance. After Bloo manages to get into another hotel room, he could have simply gone to sleep. Instead, he forces his new roommates to help him with his prank war, and gets more desperate with each failure.
  • Never My Fault: When Bloo gets in trouble with Mr. Herriman, he adamantly insists that Eduardo, Coco, and Wilt are responsible for his shenanigans. While he's correct regarding the bucket of water prank, everything else he got in trouble for was something he really did do.
  • This Means War!: After getting in trouble with Mr. Herriman, Bloo declares a prank war against his ex-roommates.
