- All Men Are Perverts: The only consumers of the Playboy are male, those being Julius, the men on the bus, Chris, Greg, Caruso, and some boys at Corleone. Rochelle and Ms. Milone are disgusted by it, and it's very heavily implied that the magazine would've destroyed Julius and Rochelle's marriage.
- Everyone Has Standards: Even though he's willing to accept horse racing wagers from a child, apparently the one thing Risky (who sells (stolen) liquor, cigarettes, and plutonium) won't sell to kids is Playboy magazine.
- Hypocrite: Rochelle has a secret stash of cash hidden in one of her shoes. She's saving that up for herself.
Julius: "Lemme get this straight: the money I make, that's everybody's money. But the money you make, that's your money?"
Rochelle: "(completely deadpan) That's right. (snatches cash away)"
- Laser-Guided Karma: Tonya spends most of the episode torturing Drew with his fear of spiders. Drew eventually retaliates once he remembers her fear of clowns, and wakes up her in the middle of the night in clown makeup.

- In the cold open, Chris is watching a scene from The A-Team in which B. A. Baracus is driving a truck.
- The narrator uses a scene of a collapsing building from Steamboat Bill, Jr. as an Imagine Spot to explain that the house would collapse if it wasn't for Julius' Crazy Glue.
- Drew's arachnophobia is the result of his watching The Fly.
- Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Drew has severe arachnophobia. Tonya has coulrophobianote which she denies but unfortunately for her, Drew knows it.
- Yank the Dog's Chain: Julius doesn't beat Chris or even yell, he instead talks to Chris and explains to him that he's too young for porn and that he shouldn't be going through people's things, letting alone stealing them. He also assures Chris that he can just talk to him if he's really curious about girls and sexuality. Chris tells Julius that despite everything that happened, he made a hefty $25 off of the Playboy magazine. Julius promptly takes that profit, as it was his magazine.
