It's shaping up to be a delightful day for Eddy, as Ol' Shovel-chin (that's Kevin, by the way) has managed to get himself grounded! Amidst Ed and Eddy's pranks on him, Double D comes along with some recycled books. As he lists them off, he finds one on diseases, discovering one called "Lack-a-Daisy-Cathro disease.", in which people who get it have his personality! Initially disinterested, Eddy sees an opportunity for a prank and tricks Double D into thinking he might have the disease...

- An Aesop:
- Never always believe you have an illness via medical books or other resources. Always see a professional doctor to get thoroughly checked out.
- Never pull a cruel prank or joke on your friends as doing so can lead to severe consequences and even affect your friendship.
- Believing Their Own Lies: At some point, Ed starts really believing that Edd was sick, even if he was involved in the prank along with Eddy (and he made the diagnosis).Ed: (crying) Poor Double D!Eddy: Double D ain't really sick, lummox. Remember?Ed: (comes to realization)...That's some good TV right there!
- Betrayal by Inaction: Double D doesn't directly help Kevin beat Eddy and Ed up but he does intentionally leave Eddy's spare house key in plain sight of him and watches the pummeling from the window.
- Blatant Lies: Upon seeing that Kevin was let out early, a panicked and nervous Eddy grovels and makes up that he 'tried' to stop Ed from busting his chops, Kevin doesn't buy it one bit which causes Eddy and Ed to run away afterwards.
- Butt-Monkey: Ed and Eddy spend most of the episode trying to make Kevin and Double D their personal Butt Monkeys for the day. This comes back to bite them when the latter finds out they tricked him and helps the former beat them up in response.
- The Dog Bites Back: Eddy and Ed learned the hard way about pranking Edd into thinking he is dying when the latter deliberately drops Eddy's spare house key in front of Kevin for good ol' fashion revenge.Edd: Oh look, Eddy's spare house key. (drops keys on the ground and turns away with a smug smile) Oops! How careless of me. I seem to have misplaced them. (Kevin picks up the key with an equally sadistic grin, enters the house and proceeds to beat up Ed and Eddy)
- Earn Your Happy Ending: For Edd only because he had no part in messing with Kevin when he was grounded and the two were both wronged by Ed and Eddy that they worked together to get payback on them with Edd also not having to suffer his "friends'" fate at the hands of Kevin as a result.Edd: Kevin's Justified Pummel Disorder: symptoms are: bruising of the eye, followed by a sore rear end, and a rapid release of hot air from an overinflated ego!
- "Kick Me" Prank: Eddy does this to Edd and says it's one of the symptoms of the Lack-a-Daisy-Cathro disease. However, this would give a clue to Edd that he was tricked when Nazz exposed it.
- I Have to Go Iron My Dog: When Kevin is finally let out of grounding for good behavior, Eddy tries to put the blame on Ed. After a moment, Ed just cries out "SPONGE STAMPEDE!" and makes a run for it.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Ed and Eddy get struck by this at the end of the episode for pranking Edd and tormenting Kevin.
- Mooning: Eddy does this to Kevin.Ed: Whoa! I am turning into a werewolf, Eddy!
- No Fourth Wall: Ed admires the episode's plot after Eddy reminds him Double D isn't really sick.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Ed and Eddy get beat up by Kevin after Edd lets him into Eddy's house as revenge for making him think he was expiring.
- Noodle Incident: We never find out why Kevin was grounded in the first place.
- Oh, Crap!: Eddy has this twice towards Kevin, one when he sees that Kevin was let out early for his good behavior and second is when Kevin somehow manages to get inside Eddy's house and is about to beat him and Ed up.
- Stupid Evil: While not evil, Eddy pranking and messing with a grounded Kevin should've been more than enough for him. But instead, he also needlessly pranks his friend Edd into thinking he is dying to further his own amusement without even considering the consequences. This costs Eddy a victory in the end, when Edd assists Kevin in beating up both Eddy and Ed for the prank.
- Toilet Paper Prank: The very first scene of the episode is Ed and Eddy covering Kevin's house in toilet paper.
- You Are Grounded!: Kevin is grounded from the start of the episode until near the end, when he is let out for good behavior.
