Recap / Ed Edd N Eddy S 2 E 24 High Heeled Ed

Go To

Kevin, Rolf, and Jonny are away go-karting, so the only ones for the Eds to scam are Sarah, Nazz, and Jimmy. The Eds determine what girls like to scam them.

Tropes:

  • Absurdly Spacious Sewer: The Eds set up a swamp ride in the sewer, which is quite spacious for a suburb.
  • All That Glitters: The Eds make jewelry to sell the girls by painting random items with gold paint. When Ed accidentally opens the bottom of the paint can while painting a can opener, all the paint falls on his pants, which are then desired by the girls and Jimmy. Eventually, the scam is exposed when the pants shatter, revealing them to be painted.
  • An Aesop: Boys and girls are just people and not all that different from each other.
  • Brown Bag Mask: Jimmy wears one when he sees that his golden pants are fake.
  • Buy or Get Lost: Eddy says this word for word when the girls and Jimmy refuse to buy the Eds' fake jewelry.
  • Cuddle Bug: The first scam for the girls involves offering Ed as a huggable bug like thing.
    • Ed, himself, becomes this by the end, suddenly trying to hug Double D and Eddy. While pantless.
  • Distracted by the Luxury: The girls (and Jimmy) end up going absolutely nuts for Ed's (fake) golden pants.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Eddy gets this when he sees how panicked Sarah became when she lost her earring.
  • Everything's Sparkly with Jewelry: The Eds' second scam for the girls involving selling junk that's painted to look like gold.
  • Foreshadowing: In the middle of the episode, Eddy suggests that using pants would get the girls' attention. Near the end, the girls and Jimmy are in awe over Ed's gold painted pants.
  • Girl's Night Out Episode: Played with. The Eds are still involved but the focus is geared towards the girls of the Cul-De-Sace, and Jimmy, to come up with a scam for them.
  • In Touch with His Feminine Side: The Eds try to scam the girls and Jimmy by finding out what they like.
  • Laughing Mad: After Ed drops a fence on her head, a dazed Nazz can only giggle insanely as she limps away.
  • Not So Above It All: Nazz is willing to stoop to flirting with Eddy if it means getting a discount on the golden pants.
  • Rule of Three: Subverted when the Eds' jewelry scam is uncovered.
    Edd: Exposed!
    Eddy: Busted!
Ed: Nope, can't think of a word.
  • Ship Tease: Nazz and Sarah flirt with Eddy and Double D respectively to convince them to give them the golden pants.
  • Smart Ball: Ed becomes momentarily verbose after the golden pants scam is exposed. It doesn't last.
  • Tentacled Terror: Ed dresses in a giant tentacle costume for the swamp ride. "I am an Ed-topus, cuz I'm Ed."
  • Too Much Information: When Eddy wonders what girls like, Ed chimes in with "Sarah likes to watch me eat yogurt from my belly button!", much to the disgust of his friends. Later, Ed responds to Eddy's comment about "getting in touch with our sensitive sides" with "I found my sensitive side 'cause it has a rash!".
