Gala Dragalia: Reborn Poseidon, Leonidas

This chapter contains examples of:

  • Big Damn Heroes: Leonidas does this by shooting off a warning shot from his Manacaster to keep the crowd from tearing his little brother apart, then talking the mob down.
  • The Bus Came Back: The first Interlude chapter reveals the reason Leif has been absent from the main story since rejoining the Halidom is cause he and Patia were putting down a rebellion.
  • Call-Back: The end of the chapter has the party meeting Chelle in the middle of nowhere like her introduction in Chapter 9.
  • Corrupt Church: Father Marko is paying former Dyrenell soldiers to spread rumors that Euden is the Othernote .
  • Don't Celebrate Just Yet: After Zena and Elisanne have purified Void Poseidon, Ciella challenges them to battle.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: As much as Ciella despises the Ilian Church, even she thought them spreading rumors of Euden being possessed by the Other was too far.
  • Family of Choice: While Leonidas and Chelle both acknowledge that they are not related to Euden by blood, they still uniformly refer to him as "brother" without a second thought.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Euden sees that he's been rather foolish in neglecting his people in his obsession to get Zethia back, thanks to Leonidas' responsible methods ensuring that the people of not just the Halidom, but all of Alberia, are compensated for the Dyrenell Empire's destructive methods.
  • Foreshadowing: We get two in this Chapter. First up is Leonidas' new duds and tommy gun-esque Manacaster, which foreshadows his eventual playable self. We also get a powered-up Poseidon, who shortly after was released as Gala Reborn Poseidon.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: Ciella lets Elisanne know the rumors going around about Euden, to the point they form an angry mob to storm the Halidom.
  • Hired Guns: The war between New Alberia and the Empire may be over, but now there are mercenaries eager for work, especially those from the former Empire.
  • Internal Reveal: A former soldier of the Empire starts spreading rumors to regular villagers about the Other's return, his possession of Aurelius and Zethia, and the false claim that Euden is possessed by Morsayati.
  • Irony: There is rumor spread that Euden is possessed by the Other which, compounded with the anarchy and the Void Dragon rampage, riled people up to form a mob to gather at the Halidom and attack The Prince. As seen in multiple certain Adventure Stories and Events, in different worlds that ends up being the case. That said, if the Other had possessed The Prince then there would be so much more death and destruction that there would be not be enough people to bravely form a mob in the first place.
  • Oh, Crap!: Euden's party finds that the back door out of the Halidom is blocked by the Agito of Fire, Ayaha and Otoha. Happens again when Void Poseidon shows up at the Halidom.
  • Resign in Protest: Elisanne eventually decides that she cannot be the Grand Paladyn anymore, due to the Church's rampant corruption, and steps down from the position, allowing her to devote herself fully to Euden's ideals.
  • Spotting the Thread: Ciella figures out that there's only one group who would gain from spreading rumors of Euden as the Other, and especially if Harle's their man.
  • This Cannot Be!: Patia has this reaction when Euden, who was all the way in North Grastaea, suddenly appears back at the Halidom.
  • The Unfought: Most of the Chapter implies that a powered-up Void Poseidon will be the final boss, but instead he's dealt with in a cutscene while Ciella is the final fight.
  • Warp Whistle: Cleo and Zena reveal the jewel that Alberius left behind at the Halidom and now have one set on the Gran Fiore.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Leif asks an in-universe one since Harle hasn't been seen since the Empire's fall.
