Recap / Code Prime - R2: Revolution, 1 "The Renewed Revolution"

Go To

Fresh from their conquest of Pendragon, the Decepticons, aided by newly arrived forces from outer space, proceed to conquer the remainder of Britannia. Six months later, the now expanded Grand Alliance return the favor.

  • Clique Tour: Both the heroes and the villains get in on this.
    • From the first half of the chapter, the new Decepticons are introduced in the following groups:
      • First, the Combiners (the Constructicons and the Combaticons) are introduced repelling the Knights of the Round's attempt to reconquer Britannia, making short work of Bismarck, Dorothea, Anya, Gino, Alicia Lohmeyer, and their forces.
      • Next, the Seekers (now expanded to include Slipstream) take over Area 18, then pull a You Have Outlived Your Usefulness on the rebels they were aiding.
      • Third, the elite Insecticons, now under command of Airachnid, annihilate Britannian forces in South America, with Airachnid personally killing Cornelia and Euphemia's mom, Victoria li Britannia.
      • Following this, we cut to Squadron X assaulting a Britannian Stronghold in Area 9, with Blitzwing capturing Castor and Pollux rux Britannia.
      • Finally, we see Odysseus's mom, Anticlea eu Britannia, being forced to surrender to Sky-Byte (who is notably more honorable than all of the Decepticons introduced in this chapter).
    • The last of Britannia's conquest introduces the Glinda Knights, who are retreating from Bruticus' forces.
    • Following the Time Skip, the Autobots and Black Knights get their own debuts during the assault on Mt. Fuji.
      • The Zero Squad, now including Elita-One, Sideswipe, Suzaku, and Orpheus Zevon, leads the charge into the Northern Tunnels.
      • The Elite Guard is next, tasked with taking the South Tunnels.
      • The Wreckers take the East Tunnels, where they absolutely mop the floor with their opponents.
      • Meanwhile, the Black Dragon Unit takes command of the Western Tunnels.
      • Outside, the Aerialbots seize control of a transport ship filled with Energon.
      • Last but not least, the command squad takes the heart of the mountain, rescuing the civilians within.
      • During all of this, the expanded science team is shown monitoring their progressing and noting how effective the new recruits and Knightmares are.
    • At the very end of the chapter, we're introduced to Steeljaw, who invites Thunderhoof to join him and Airachnid.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Pretty much the entire first half of the chapter sees Britannia getting demolished by the Decepticons. The second half is the same, only with the Black Knights and Autobots inflicting one to the Decepticons.
  • Death by Racism: Milly’s Mother, Kallen’s Stepmother, and the Black King refuse to work with the Japanese slaves in Gilbert’s proposed uprising. This gets them killed by the hands of Thunderhoof.
  • Deconstructed Trope: A Decon-Recon Switch example.
    • Deconstructed when the Knights of the Round return to Britannia, you'd expect them to give the Decepticons a challenge, since they only really won last time because they removed the Knights of the Round from the playing field. Here, however, they get wiped out to almost a man because during the original assault, the Decepticons were also without their best fighters, who have now arrived at Earth. And with the technological disparity being so high, the results are a Foregone Conclusion.
    • Reconstructed when the alliance make their return in the second half of the chapter - unlike the Knights of the Round and the rest of the Britannian forces, the Autobot-Black Knight alliance spent six months improving their technology and expanding their forces, so they are able to fight the Decepticons on equal footing.
  • Didn't See That Coming: All of the Decepticons are blindsided to see that Zero is still alive, meaning Lelouch survived Megatron's Dark Geass.
  • He's Back!: The second half of the chapter is all about the Autobot-Black Knight Alliance making their big comeback after spending six months rebuilding their forces.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: The entire human portion of the Black Knights has upgraded to new mechs during the Time Skip, ranging from Mook Mobiles (Tamaki's Akatsuki, Cornelia's Vincent) to Ace Customs (Lelouch's Shinkiro).
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Attempted by the remaining loyalist Knights of the Round when they return to the Britannian Homeland. They fail completely.
  • Shout-Out: When the leader of the Area 18 rebels thanks the Seekers for freeing them, Slipstream explains that it's more like they're 'under new management'.
  • Simple Solution Won't Work: During the assault on Mt. Fuji, Windblade wonders if the Autobots even need to raid the mines for energon, figuring that their scientists would've figured out synthetic energon. Jetfire responds that while they've stabilized the formula enough for the Ark and the knightmares, it's not quite ready for Cybertronian physiology.
  • The War Sequence: The first half of the chapter is devoted to showing off the Decepticon conquest of the Britannian Empire, with scenes of fighting all over the world as the Cons take over Britannia Area by Area.
