Recap / Code Prime - R1: Rebellion, 11 "Scrapheap"

Go To

While Optimus, Arcee, and Cliffjumper are exploring the Arctic, the rest of the gang are forced to deal with an extremely dangerous swarm of pests.

  • Adaptation Expansion: For the Code Geass side of things, as this chapter takes place during the Time Skip between "Refrain" and "Guren Dances" from that series.
  • Dope Slap: Inoue gives one to Tamaki for coming up with the idea to send the Scraplets to Britannia's doorstep (due to the off chance that either Britannia or the Decepticons could weaponize them).
  • Facepalm:
    • Tamaki does this when learning that every other Black Knight but him asked for a translator to understand Bumblebee.
    • Kallen also does this upon witnessing Tamaki's reaction to a spider (she and the other Black Knights were put on high alert in case of another Scraplet invasion).
  • Innocently Insensitive: While the Black Knights are the Autobots' allies, it's only here that they realize that their metallic friends aren't just machines, but living beings who can possess fear and die.
  • Killer Rabbit: The Scraplets look adorable, but they are still voracious metal-eating predators.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: The idea of sending the Scraplets after the Britannians and/or the Decepticons is brought up, but shot down on the off chance that either party will figure out how to weaponize the metal eaters.
  • Oh, Crap!: Oh yes, the Black Knights and Autobots' reactions, especially when facing a huge swarm of Scraplets.
    Ironhide: WHOA!
    Tamaki: HOLY SHIT!
  • Pride: Lelouch's pride actually helps him here, as his refusal to let the team be crippled by a bunch of Cybertronian pests ends up leading him to use himself as bait to lure the Scraplets back into the Arctic, earning everyone's trust in the process.
  • Simple Solution Won't Work: Tamaki's idea for dealing with the Scraplets is to send them to Britannia. This gets shot down on the grounds of either them or the Decepticons finding a way to weaponize them.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Bulkhead Screams Like a Little Girl in the presence of Scraplets. Tamaki has a similar reaction to spiders. This is lampshaded both times by other characters.
