Recap / Code Prime - R1: Rebellion, 10 "Reflections"

Go To

Fresh off of their formation, the heroes move to shut down Refrain smuggling, which ends up being extremely personal for Kallen.

  • Adaptational Heroism: Lelouch in canon didn't do anything to help Kallen after learning about her issues with her mother. Here, he arranges for both of them to move to a different home away from Ms. Stadtfeld so that the two can mend their broken bond. Downplayed, though, by the fact he canonically learns about this issue at a point where he doesn't actually have time to do anything about it.
  • Dramatic Drop: Rai drops his mug of milk upon discovering that Lelouch is Zero.
  • Enlightened Self-Interest: When Takami complains about spending time fighting Refrain dealers, Ratchet points out it's good PR, leading to more people joining up.
  • Internal Reveal: Rai accidentally discovers Lelouch's identity as Zero, along with meeting C.C.
  • My Country Tis of Thee That I Sting: Already disgusted and disillusioned by Britannia's treatment of the Japanese, Rai decides to join the Black Knights.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Megatron makes it very clear to Starscream that he doesn't want the latter to try and bump off Optimus Prime again.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Kallen's mother canonically ends up arrested for Refrain usage and is sentenced to twenty years in prison, which ends up being commuted following the Zero Requiem. Here, she and all of the other refrain users found during the raid at the end of the chapter are taken to the Ark to be healed, with Lelouch then given Kallen a new apartment to live in with her mother so that both can mend their relationship.
