When Lieutenant-Colonel Kusakabe leads a splinter Japan Liberation Front group to take over a hotel and its occupants hostage (unwittingly as part of Starscream's plan to destroy the Autobots and their human allies), Lelouch and the Autobots mount a rescue operation with the combined Kozuki Resistance Cell and the Yamato Alliance forces. In the process, he and Optimus Prime publicly announce the creation of the Autobot-Black Knight alliance.
- Bash Brothers: Suzaku and Dreadwing team up in their first mission together to take out the Raiko.
- A Father to His Men: During the rescue mission, when Kallen thanks Optimus for his help, the Autobot assures her in a tone that reminds her of how a father would talk to his daughter.
- Not His Sled: Starscream was the one to leak information to an unaware Kusakabe about the Sakuradite producers meeting at the Lake Kawaguchi Hotel this time.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Confronting Kusakabe and the JLF soldiers that have taken Lake Kawaguchi hostage, Zero rips into them that they've become like Britannia in holding innocent people hostage and killing them, as well as allowing themselves to end up being a part of Starscream's plan to destroy the Autobots and Black Knights.
