Odd loses all of his codes to a XANA specter while out jogging, and so he tries to keep the others coders (Aelita and Ulrich) by locking them up in the Gym closet. However, XANA can walk through walls, and is not so easily fooled. XANA also attempts to recruit William to his side again via use of a clone on Lyoko.
This episode contains examples of:
- All for Nothing: Odd messing with the loudspeaker does not bide time for the others to escape, and very nearly get their codes taken. He gets slapped with 6 hours of detention and community service for his troubles.
- Continuity Nod: Jim doing Tai-Chi in the woods, which happened in Rendevous, though in this case, Odd disturbs him as he was running away from a football player XANA specter.
- The Corrupter: XANA!William in this case towards William.
- The Dark Side: XANA!William tries to convince William to stay on Lyoko and be all-powerful again, and taps into his anger at Yumi to try and convince him.
- Did Not Think This Through: Odd, after losing all of his codes, tries to make the coders (Yumi, Aelita and Ulrich), stay in the bunker if a XANA attack happens. The one flaw in his plan is that he didn't expect XANA to walk through walls and get to the that way. Jérémie points out that his heart was in the right place by keeping them safe, but ultimately it didn't work.
- Good Angel, Bad Angel: Jérémie and Yumi try to convince William to stay on their team, and not join XANA because of anger at Yumi, while the XANA!William tries to convince him to succumb to his anger and join him on Lyoko once more, away from Yumi and the others.
- Dumb Ass Has A Point: Odd calls all of the team to the Gym, citing an emergency talk, and they all go in one group. They subsequently get thrown into a net trap, and Odd points out that it's far too easy for XANA to capture them, so it's best if the people with codes (the coders) are separated from the people without codes (no-coders) when a XANA attack happens.
- Manipulative Bastard: XANA tries to re-recruit William to his side by use of his clone. William does not give in, however, despite trying to use his anger towards Yumi against him, and even both chasing Yumi for a while.
- Oh, Crap!: Odd cannot believe he got his codes stolen, and walks out in a huff.
- Violation of Common Sense: Aelita and Ulrich are trapped in a dead end, and Odd sings through the loudspeaker. The two just stand there in place confused, and don't attempt to go past him. Even Odd put two and two together, and he's not exactly a tech genius, so Aelita and Ulrich should've noticed the cause of him glitching too.
- Weaksauce Weakness: The specter is affected by the loudspeaker, something Odd notices, and tells Jérémie.
