XANA launches an attach at 5AM, and Aelita see's her mother in the Manor

This episode contains examples of:

  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Averted, as Aelita finally gets over Laura, and says thanks at the episode for helping save her.
  • Continuity Snarl:
    • The Hermitage is called "The Manor" here, and what little we see of it, it looks wildly different to its' animated counterpart (for one thing, it has an inside balcony).
    • Possibly. The Specter shows Aelita's mother as being blonde, despite sharing Aelita's pink hair in the flashbacks seen by the audience in the Animated series. Could be a case of Fridge Brilliance, as it was established that XANA doesn't know what Aelita's mother looks like (and XANA didn't know about her Mother until Aelita told XANA!Hopper that to begin with), and XANA could just be guessing on very little info. Similarly, Aelita's recollection of what her mother looks like would be different and skewed anyway, as both would've aged since they last saw each other.
  • Foreshadowing: X.A.N.A. was able to create a specter of Anthea, despite previously being unable to do the same in "Distant Memory". That hints that the real Anthea was still alive and X.A.N.A. has managed to find her somewhere.
  • Love Makes You Stupid: Non-romantic variation. XANA Makes a specter of Aelita's mother, and when Jérémie finds out later, he tries to reason with her that it's just a specter.
  • Manipulative Bastard: XANA creates a specter of Aelita's mother to get her codes, knowing she'll fall for it out of curiosity, and to see her mother again.
  • Master of Illusion: The message seems convincing to Aelita, and judging by her reaction to her mother, XANA did get her full attention, and completely convinced her that her mother came back.
  • Missing Mission Control: Jérémie tries to get Aelita out of the Manor, and Laura takes his place instead.
  • Running Gag: All of the gang sneaking behind Jim doing Tai-chi in the forest one by one when they enter or leave the lab.
  • Recycled Premise: This episode is similar in concept to the episode Distant Memory, in which XANA lures away Aelita from the group to cause trouble by messaging her with a vague message "sent" by her parents. In this case, it's her mother, and is in the real world, not in a simulation bubble. XANA is being a Manipulative Bastard and trying to confuse the team enough on Lyoko to drain Aelita of her codes.
  • Techno Babble: Laura works out that the two towers are communicating in a sequence of prime numbers, then repeating the sequence in 11 variations, and then stopping for 13 seconds.
