English Episode Title: Chaos at Kadic — French Episode Title: Chaos à Kadic
XANA messes up the school network, and messes up the report cards system.
This episode contains examples of:
- Buffy Speak: Odd calls the Mega-pod (which has a far more complicated name) the "Mega thingy on wheels". Odd later says that Laura is "un-return-to-the-past-er-able".
- Call-Back: To the many times Ulrich and Odd get bad results in their classes in the animated series. Seems that XANA has decided to weaponise the network responsible for the report cards.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Aelita once again towards Laura, though it's limited to an initial lashing out at her while on Lyoko for not treating the mission seriously, and later in Deadpan Snarker form to chastise Laura on whether she should still use or see the super computer.
- Continuity Nod: To Common Interest, where the central premise is getting a uranium rod to refuel the super computer (where we also learn that it's autonomous). Here, Aelita explains to Laura's father that the super computer is autonomous and runs off of nuclear power.
- Diabolus ex Machina: Laura's father see's the facility, done as a last ditch attempt for Laura to not leave Kadic by Laura herself. After the threat is neutralised, the team admits that Laura cannot be out of group due to her knowledge, the fact she can't be amnesia'd due to making the Return to the Past be less effective on her, and so agree to put her on a tight leash, and have limited access to the super computer under supervision.
- Forced Friendly Fire: Yumi kills Aelita so Laura and her father can get a good talking to by her.
- Let's Split Up, Gang!: Jérémie virtualises Odd and Ulrich in the Desert and Mountain sectors, while Aelita goes to Sector 5. This was done to see where the activated tower is without the holoscan, as Aelita and Jérémie and wants to check Lyoko to be safe, and fix the holoscan if it's just his app messing up.
- Malevolent Architecture: The Cortex, as usual, though it nearly kills them after three of them are left handing in a gap, and the Mega-pod is nearly falls off.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Aelita gets a little annoyed at Laura treating the situation as one big IT Problem, instead of the real stakes of XANA affecting the real world that the Lyoko Warriors have to contend with.
- We Need a Distraction: Aelita shows her father and Laura the supercomputer under the guise of a school project, while Jérémie and the rest carry on with deactivating the tower in the Cortex.
