Incarnate Lord is put under lockdown because of recent events.
The episode provides examples of:
- Actor Allusion: This is not the first time in a horror project Brad Dourif mentions about being in the Vietnam War.
- Call-Back:
- After seeing strands of Sister Ruth's red hair, Hulk Chucky suggests she should go blonde.
- Chucky mentions defenestration as his favorite method of killing, which is how he killed Aunt Bree. In fact, his first onscreen kill in Child's Play was defenestration.
- Celebrity Paradox:
- If Colonel Chucky's "Khan!" Shout-Out is any indication, the Star Trek franchise exists in the Child's Play universe: Catherine Hicks, who played Karen Barclay in the first film, appeared in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home; Chris Sarandon, who played Det. Mike Norris in the first film, appeared in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; Gerrit Graham, who played Phil Simpson in the second film, appeared in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager; Dakin Matthews, who played Colonel Cochrane in the third film, appeared in Star Trek: Voyager; Andrew Robinson, who played Sgt. Botnick in the third film, appeared in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; Grace Lynn Kung, who played Claire in the seventh film, appeared in Star Trek: Discovery; last, but not least Chucky himself Brad Dourif appeared in Star Trek: Voyager.
- Also, Hulk Chucky references Sister Act (which features Kathy Najimy, who made a cameo appearance as a hotel maid who stumbles upon two of Tiffany's victims in the fourth film, and Terry Wills, who played a garbage man becomes one of Chucky's victims in the third film).
- Destination Defenestration: How "Good" Chucky kills Nadine. Afterwards, he cites it as his favorite form of murder.
- Ear Ache: It turns out Kyle didn't escape the explosion completely unscathed. As she reveals that she lost her right ear and now wears a prosthetic one to hold up her glasses.
- Evil Versus Evil: The Colonel and Hulk Chucky come to blows, though the Colonel poisons Hulk Chucky before the actual fighting can start.
- Expository Hairstyle Change: After she devotes herself to Chucky, Sister Ruth has pulled a few strands of her hair out of her uniform.
- Foreshadowing: When Devon and Jake are talking with each other, "Good Chucky" kills a fly by tossing a pen at it implying that Chucky Prime's influence is starting to overrun him.
- Flipping the Bird: Hulk Chucky does this when he sees Colonel Chucky arrive with Dr. Mixter.
- Greater-Scope Villain: Due to corrupting Chucky as a child and turning him into the serial killer he became, Dr. Mixter is essentially responsible for the events of the entire franchise.
- I'm a Humanitarian: After cutting off a piece of Andy's skin, Colonel Chucky roasts it on the fire and starts eating it.
- My God, What Have I Done?: "Good" Chucky seems to be completely traumatized over pushing Nadine out the window likely as a consequence of the original personality resurfacing because of Chucky Prime.
- Pietà Plagiarism: Nadine is pushed from a spire to her death, landing in the arms of a statue of the Virgin Mary. She is afterwards shown in this position.
- Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure:
- Sister Ruth doesn't understand Hulk Chucky's reference to Sister Act.
- When one of Colonel Chucky's Final Speech quotes is to shout "Khan!", Lexy asks who Khan is.
- Psycho Psychologist: Dr. Mixter is revealed to be this. She was Charles Lee Ray's therapist when he was 7 years old, and admits that she did see good in him, but found that boring and decided to completely "stamp it out" of him. That’s right; she pretty much made Chucky who he is now, simply because she was bored.
- Shout-Out:
- Hulk Chucky refers to Sister Ruth as Sister Act.
- Colonel Chucky continues to be a knock-off of Colonel Kurtz, complete with him uttering "the horror, the horror" as he dies.
- Also, mixed in with his list of historical military quotes, Colonel Chucky also randomly shouts "Khan!".
- Tampering with Food and Drink: Colonel Chucky manages to beat Hulk Chucky by poisoning the latter's communion wafers.
- Throat-Slitting Gesture: Colonel Chucky does this to Hulk Chucky, who responds by Flipping the Bird.
- Wham Episode: Nadine is killed by Chucky when she is tossed out the window, but it looks like "Good" Chucky is slowly being overtaken by Chucky Prime.
- Wham Line:
- While Dr. Mixter is talking with Colonel Chucky at the beginning of the episode, he reveals how they're connected.Colonel Chucky: I don't have to answer to you. I'm not 8-year-old "Charlie" anymore, and you're no longer my therapist.
- When Dr. Mixter gets "Good" Chucky away from the kids, she reveals just how much of an influence she had on Charles Lee Ray.Dr. Mixter: When I first met you, when you were seven, there was a stream of innocence in you, despite your more interesting qualities. A naivete that wasn't surprising in a child, but frankly, as your therapist, I found it boring. I did my best to stamp it out of you.
- While Dr. Mixter is talking with Colonel Chucky at the beginning of the episode, he reveals how they're connected.
- Worf Had the Flu: Andy is easily overpowered and knocked out by the much older Dr. Mixter due to having spent the past year malnourished and tortured.
