Go To

The kids take control of Camp Campbell in a revolution led by Max. Nikki tries to impress Ered. Max and Neil must fight for their right to party. Campbell pays the camp a visit.

Tropes:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: The episode's title.
  • Bookends: The episode begins and ends with the campers scrubbing the mess hall floor.
  • Backstory: Max briefly retells some of his family's backstory, saying that his family moved to America to escape the cheap labor that his home country (India) forced on them.
  • Brick Joke: Quatermaster is tied to a chair in the cold opening and gets completely forgotten about for the rest of the episode, until the very last few seconds, where he falls out and lands on the ground.
    Quartermaster: Ow.
  • A Day in the Limelight: The first episode which focuses on Ered.
  • Daytime Drama Queen: Gwen is addicted to the most terrible reality TV shows imaginable, and is willing to be the kids' prisoner if she can catch up on "Teen Prison Mom Wars."
  • Full-Circle Revolution: Cameron Campbell shuts down the kids' antics pretty quickly, and by the end of the episode, everyone's back to scrubbing floors.
  • Hero-Worshipper: Nikki wants to be just like Ered, and is even willing to be her attack dog if it gets her closer to Ered's level.
  • Innocent Innuendo: Max tries to stir up Neil and Space Kid by likening their cause the minutemen of the American Revolution. Space Kid remarks that "minute man" is what his mom calls his dad when they fight.
  • It's All About Me: Ered's defining character trait.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Max tries to tell Nikki that Ered doesn't care about her, and Ered instead tells her not to listen. She then clarifies that she really doesn't care about Nikki, but that she needs Nikki on her side.
  • Rebellious Spirit: Parodied; Max spends the whole episode trying to take control of the revolution he started because he's pissed that the other campers didn't pick him as their leader.
  • The Revolution Will Not Be Civilized: Ered's ideal summer camp is a giant hedonistic party with David and Gwen tied to the flagpole outside.
  • Spoof Aesop: Delivered by Cameron Campbell;
    Cameron: Ah, you kids and your dreams. So full of hope and ignorance. Someday you'll learn, that no matter how righteous you think your cause is, there's always someone bigger to keep you down... and that day is today and that someone is me.
    Max: Say what now?
