He really likes really great books

Original air date: 11/14/2019

We arrive once again at the yellow house, where we are greeted by our friend in the striped shirt Josh, who is reading a really great book, about a boy and his puppy who were about to be hit by a big wave while paddling. When showing the book, Josh doesn't miss the opportunity to make a joke about the title, before remembering that they were about to have Reading Time and show the viewer his new shirt (which has his name on the back). Questioning what his Puppy wants to read, he asks her if she wants to read A really great book, when she denies it he asks what book she wants to read, and that time that we all love arrives, Blue decides that we are going to play Blue's Clues today, to find out what book Blue wants to read

After popping Pawprint (which literally becomes the word "pop"), Josh goes after his notebook trying to see if Sidetable notices his shirt. When he picks up the notebook he sings "To play Blue's Clues", but before he finishes he gets distracted by his really incredible book (no, the jokes with the book's title don't stop here), and go after B-L-U-E without taking his eyes off the book. When the viewer notices a pawprint, Josh confuses them by pointing out the clue, with them asking how to spell the word clue, pointing out that it is similar to the word Blue, but starting with C. Then the children, who seem a little bothered, yell at him announcing that they saw a clue. As he turns back Josh notices the clue in a book in front of his computer, highlighted in the word "Moon", our first clue is Moon.

With no time to think, Josh hears Mr. Salt calling him, as he and Mrs Pepper need help with their shopping list while taking care of the hungry twins, no problem right? You thought. This is Josh we are talking about and he needs help with the list of 2 items, bread and milk. When he finishes helping, Josh asks the Viewer if they found any clues, which they didn't, so he goes in search of them, but quickly gets distracted when he realizes that the book starts with B, as well as Blue, pointing out the first letter of several words til he reaches the second clue, which like Clue starts with C, he then starts to ramble words that start C before realizing that the children were pointing out the pawprint on a drawing of a cow, meaning the second clue is cow .

No time to think, the mail is here, Blue brought some word papers to help the viewer follow the music, as she is interrupting the Mailtime song with her barking whenever Josh says a word from the cards. Mailbox says he has a letter for Josh, a big blue letter E, to announce that he has received an Email. The Email comes from two little girls showing Josh and Blue the story book they wrote, about a monster who was silly instead of scary, which Josh loved, because after all he loves really great books. As a way to return the hassle, Blue tricks Josh into thinking a book is moving alone before Skidoo into the book. Inside the Storybook, Josh almost gets hit by some words before seeing some words with his and Blue's name to show where they should sit. Josh and Blue, with the help of the viewer, correct the wrong sentences in the book (which are completely animated), and end their stay in the book by reading the whole story, that is, before a clue jumps in his direction. After spelling, Josh comes to the conclusion that the third clue was Jump.

With the three clues, we are ready for our Thinking Chair. As Josh sits down, he tries to figure out what Blue wants to do with the moon, a cow, and the word jump. Initially he mistakenly believes that the moon could be the one jumping, but then comes to the conclusion that the cow would be the one jumping over the moon, but without remembering which book had a cow jumping, the viewer points to "Hey Diddle Diddle!", which was the book Blue wanted to read.

After reading the book, about the cat that played the fiddle, the cow that jumped over the moon, the laughing puppy and the spoon that ran away with the dish, Josh comes to the conclusion that it's time for the so long, with something special this time, below him some subtitles would appear to guide the viewer through one more song. With that we walked away from the house once again before our friends said goodbye to us.

  • Always Someone Better: After Josh tries the entire episode to be funny with puns, Mailbox who is well versed in jokes, returns the favor, after Josh asks if Mailbox has any letters with him, what he confirms by delivering a literal letter E during the Mailtime, to symbolize that he received an Email. This, unlike most of Josh's puns, actually makes Blue laugh.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When the kids point out that they found a clue, Josh, who was rambling over the first letters of the words, points out that "Clue" starts with the letter C.
  • Continuity Nod: After more than twenty years, the content of "A Really Great Book" is revealed here. It's about a boy and his dog on a boat paddling as fast as they can to escape a giant wave, a reference to both "Blue's News" and "Big News with Blue" (the previous episode).
  • Creative Closing Credits: In addition to the usual credits, Mr and Mrs Pepper can be seen carrying the twins in their shopping cart, the dishes and spoon hand in hand as they run and Mailbox waving his flag.
  • The Ditz: Josh for a moment seems to forget what the moon is, and declares that he has difficulty with lists of two items.
  • Face of a Thug: During Mailtime, the girls tell a story they wrote about a monster that looked scary but was gentle.
  • Facepalm: After having to listen to Josh's puns throughout the episode, Blue just puts her hand on his forehead to show her disappointment.
  • Fleeting Demographic Rule: This episode is basically an updated version of "Blue's ABC's".
  • Follow the Bouncing Ball: Done during "The So-Long Song".
  • The Gadfly: Mailbox tricks Josh into thinking he's received a letter by saying he has a letter for him, then laughing when Josh pulls a literal letter out of the box.
  • Internal Homage: This episode is a homage to the episode "Blue's ABC's" from the original series. Featuring a thank you in the credits for those who worked on the original version
  • Lame Pun Reaction: As an episode themed around letters and words, puns would be inevitable, much to the annoyance of Blue who just slaps her hand from her forehead after Josh's fourth pun about A Really Great Book.
  • Not Hyperbole: The name of the book that Josh loves is actually "A really great book", which he has a lot of fun making jokes about, much to Blue's annoyance.
  • Running Gag: Josh mentioning that he likes "Really Great Books" in reference to the book "A Really Great Book". Blue gets tired of it fast.
  • Shared Family Quirks: When Josh sees the twins crying because they are hungry, he tickles them to cheer them up, just like Steve did to Paprika when she was a baby.
  • Stealth Pun:
    • When he erases Pawprint, Josh pokes him and it pops, literally becoming the word pop before disappearing for good.
    • Josh makes several puns about "A really great book", but he says them so repetitively that they stop being Stealth.
    • In the second clue after talking about things that start with the letter C, Josh asks the Viewer if they "C a clue".
    • Mailbox delivers a letter E to Josh, to demonstrate that he received an Email.
