  • Date First Aired: 29/01/2015

After Tracey's imprisonment in the previous episode, the rest of the family is preparing for her return home. Whilst celebrating, Sharon reveals that she has become the new kitchen supervisor of Broad Park Secondary and suggests that Tracey gets a job there.

At the cafeteria, Sharon is surprised to see Tracey, who has come to the job as it's the only one they've got. During this, Dorien is playing poker online, but Travis ends up overhearing it as selling phone sex. Busting Dorien, Sharon, and Tracey find out that Dorien now has a compulsive addiction to gambling. They promptly freeze her accounts by claiming that she had died and tell her to get a job, which she gets... at a fashion store ran by her nemesis, Melanie.

Meanwhile, at the cafeteria, Sharon bosses around her employees, her sister, and her nephew so much that they decide to quit en masse. Meanwhile, Dorien is doing decent enough at her job so Melanie asks why they became such bad friends. Dorien reveals that at school, Melanie humiliated her in front of the whole class for wearing a second-hand boy's blazer. All seems to go well, until Melanie humiliates Dorien again by putting on a boy's blazer on her.

Sharon tries to do the work of everyone who left but she has difficulties doing so and admits that she's not good as a manager. All is forgiven, and Dorien's got a new job as the cleaner.

Tropes In This Episode:

  • Acquired Error at the Printer: The banner to be put up for Tracey's return from prison reads "Welcome Home Tracey slash Mum", much to Sharon's annoyance.
  • Almighty Janitor: Seemingly average canteen worker Conrad turns out to have previously been a Human Rights Lawyer in Romania, and assists Garth in fighting back against his aunt.
  • Ask a Stupid Question...: Sharon goes through this when she notices a dirty oven board that Tracey is trying to clean.
    Sharon: What's this?
Tracey: It's the tailfin off Apollo 13. What do you think this is?
  • Bad Boss: Sharon frequently bosses around her employees so badly that they quit on her.
  • Credit Card Destruction: Sharon cuts up one of Dorien's credit cards to stop her from playing online poker.
  • Crossdressing: A minor example - Dorien was forced to wear a boy's blazer on her first day of school, an incident which Melanie mocked her for.
  • Ethnic Menial Labour: Amogst the workers working at Sharon's new job at a school canteen are the Romanian Conrad,
  • Fictional Document: Kitchen Commando by Jed Q Kowalski, which Sharon has been using to get tips on the kitchen.
  • The Gambling Addict: Dorien, despite her insistence that she can quit anytime she wanted, gains an addiction to online poker, enough to force the others to get her to quit.
  • The Ghost:
    • Bella, a former canteen worker who left her job after suffering a nervous breakdown.
    • Norman Critchler, the previous owner of Dorien's blazer on the first day of school.
  • Intimate Telecommunications: Travis overhears Dorien talking dirty whilst participating in online poker and comes to the conclusion that she's earning money through phone sex.
  • Malaproper: Sharon confuses "plongeur" for "plonker" when fighting with Tracey.
  • New Job Episode: An in-debt Dorien is made to take up a job at a boutique shop run by her arch-nemesis Melanie, although she quits after she humiliates her.
  • Not What It Looks Like: Dorien plays poker online. However, the way she talks to her opponent online can be interpreted in a sexual way, leading to Travis believing that she's participating in Intimate Telecommunications.
  • One-Shot Character: Conrad, Cecily, and Stephanie.
  • Overly Long Name: Cecily has difficulty pronouncing Sharon's surname due to its length, leading to Sharon just asking her to refer to her as "Mrs. T" from now on.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: To The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover.
  • Reports of My Death Were Greatly Exaggerated: Travis manages to freeze Dorien's bank accounts by claiming to the bank companies that she had died, even though she's still very much alive.
  • Right in Front of Me: Sharon makes disparaging remarks about her new canteen worker, unaware that it's her sister.
Sharon: Right, I wonder what pathetic no-hoper I'm gonna have to whip into shape this time.
    Tracey: Hello, Shal.
Sharon: Trace! That's a nice surprise. I really ain't got time to talk. I've gotta interview some loser from the knob centre.
    Tracey: That'll be me.
  • Shout-Out: Dorien complements Travis' dish cleaning by saying that he could get a job at Downton Abbey.
  • Supreme Chef: Garth has been using his time in the cafeteria to buy the most luxurious ingredients for schoolchildren, much to the annoyance of Sharon.
  • Take This Job and Shove It: Dorien becomes so annoyed by the way that Melanie humiliates her in her job in a boutique that she rips up the blazer she had given her and quits on the spot.
Dorien: Work here?! I'd rather scrub holes!
  • We Used to Be Friends: Apparently, Dorien and Melanie used to be Bosom Buddies until Melanie mocked her for her boy's blazer.
