Big Hero 6 has to deal with Professor Granville deciding to become a more active part of their hero work, while also dealing with an escaped Momakase going on a culinary crime spree.
Tropes in this episode include:
- Animal Eyes: Momakase gains them as the first sign of her impending transformation.
- Bilingual Bonus: Baymax speaks many different languages after his chip was damaged. At one point, while speaking in German, Granville replies in the same language.
- Call-Back: Hiro recalls that last time he rebelled against Granville, he put the whole city at risk. This is the main reason he didn't tell her to back off sooner.
- Wasabi and Honey Lemon's workout outfits were worn in their respective Baymax shorts. Honey's was also used in "Big Roommates 2" in a brief scene.
- Close-Call Haircut: Momokase gets one on her bun from Wasabi, after she cut up most of her restaurant with her Absurdly Sharp Blades.
- Contrived Coincidence: Fred happens to have an invite to the high-end dinner party that Momakase is hosting, which also reveals the nature of her crimes.
- Cut Lex Luthor a Check: Liv furnishes Momokase with some Bio-Augmentation in exchange for Momokase paying her with the profits from her dinner party.
- Evil, Inc.: Sycorax is revealed to be one, with Liv taking a known criminal on as an "investor", and saying that they believe in progress "at any cost".
- Evilutionary Biologist: Liv implants a chip in Momakase's neck that, when activated, turns her into a monster.
- Implausible Deniability: Richardson Mole pretends to have never heard of Krei, despite Krei pointing out that he's using one of his company's phones.
- Inflating Body Gag: After being damaged by Momakase, Baymax's head and hands keep overinflating.
- Inventor of the Mundane: A jealous Krei yells in outrage, "I invented the internetvite!". Granted, this could just as easily be Invention Pretension.
- I Warned You: Mini-Max reminds Fred of his "repeated warnings" after Fred ruins the thrusters in Mini-Max's armor by trying to roast marshmallows over them.
- Locked in a Freezer: Momakase locks the heroes inside her pantry, which has an impenetrable door. It takes Baymax's overdrive mode to get them out.
- Mythology Gag: Momokase's upgrade is a reference to Lord Deathstrike's, a villain who debuted in the Big Hero 6 comics, more famous sister and X-Men villain Lady Deathstrike.
- Wasabi battling with a katana is a reference to his comic counterpart, who used katanas as regular weapons.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Granville thinks this of herself after her strategy leads the team right into Momakase's trap.
- Not So Above It All: Granville after Baymax tells her "Don't look down.". As soon as Baymax is off the ground, Granville says she looked down in a panicked tone. A far cry from her normally stoic self.
- Pet the Dog: When Momokase reveals herself and attacks, Richardson Mole holds the door open and lets everyone else out first except for Krei.
- Portmanteau Word: Fred comes up with "impantriable" for Momakase's impenetrable pantry door.
- Rummage Sale Reject: Pressed for time, Granville scavenges herself a makeshift hero suit out of backup pieces of Big Hero 6's suits (Honey's helmet, Wasabi's left gauntlet, Gogo's chest plate, and Hiro's pants and right gauntlet).
- Sdrawkcab Speech: Baymax talks like this when Granville mostly fixes him. Blowing the dust off his personality chip sorts that out.
- Unwanted Assistance: While she means well and starts out helpful, Granville quickly begins to overstep her bounds, making gross healthy snacks, putting the team on a exercise regimen, planning their missions for them, and "fixing" Wasabi's plasma blades, causing them to make a really annoying sound when activated.
- Wolverine Claws: Momakase's fingernails grow a set of these made of the same material as her knives after Liv activates her upgrade.
