Jimmy Jones encounters a hostile alien plant, from which he escapes. He goes to the trio for help, but Gwen and Kevin don't believe. Ben does, however, but things soon go out of control.
  • A Day in the Limelight: The episode is told from Jimmy's perspective and he's the one too to save the day.
  • Arbitrary Scepticism: Kevin and Gwen do not believe in Jimmy's warning about the alien plant, despite the fact that going after potential alien threats to the planet is their day-to-day job. Being a kid probably has something to do with it.
  • Assimilation Plot: The alien plant succesfully replaces the entire trio with plant clones and planned to do so with many other people.
  • Blatant Lies: Plant Ben says that he just wants to talk with Jimmy over a smoothie, not crush him to a fine pulp… while transformed into Ultimate Humongousaur.
  • Cassandra Truth: Absolutely no one ends up believing in Jimmy's warning about the danger the alien plant poses. Gwen and Kevin outright don't believe him, while Harangue uses it to fuel his hatred for Ben. Only Ben believes Jimmy, and he soon gets replaced by a plant clone. Being a kid probably doesn't help.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Jimmy is seen eating a bag of peanuts throughout the episode. The alien plant proves to vulnerable to these peanuts.
  • Exact Words: Swampfire’s powers can only control plants, while the creature they’re facing is a weed.
  • Foreshadowing: Jimmy discovers graphs that show water usage has increased in Bellwood. One of the first signs that the alien plant has replaced people.
  • Generic Doomsday Villain: Aside from potentially wanting to take over the planet and being a threat, the alien plant doesn't have any other characteristics.
  • Gilligan Cut: As Gwen states that no-one credible would take Jimmy’s claims that Ben is assisting an alien invasion seriously, we cut to Will Harangue.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Kevin is annoyed by Gwen’s poor one-liners.
  • Noodle Incident: Ben claims that he once mistook one of Max’s shirts for Vilgax. Though given that this is the plant clone trying to dissuade Jimmy from thwarting its plan, the veracity of this is uncertain.
  • Only Sane Man: Ben of all people ends up being this, as he's the only one who believes in Jimmy's warning. Unfortunately, he gets replaced by a plant clone.
  • Point-and-Laugh Show: Kevin’s view of the Will Harangue Nation. He’s disappointed that Gwen’s making him miss it.
  • Running Gag: Gwen constantly making terrible puns.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Jimmy’s attempt to photograph Ben in the act of helping the space weed ends up looking blurry, due to it being taken late at night, with Jimmy ducking down and not holding the camera steady as a result. Thus, only Will Harangue takes him seriously, and even then only to lie about Ben more.
  • Twisting the Words: Jimmy attempts to warn the people of Bellwood of an alien invasion by going on Will Harangue's show. Harangue twists his words to make it sound like Ben is plotting an invasion.
  • Utopia Justifies the Means: The alien plant wants to take over the world so there can be eternal peace and no wars, pain or suffreing.
