"I'm gonna kill you!"

The second episode of Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two and the 63rd episode overall of Battle for Dream Island, in which Pie is the first contestant to be eliminated, Teardrop joins the game, and the featured challenge is to build the tallest block tower.

"The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life" contains examples of:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: While her teammates build their tower, Golf Ball tells TV to calculate a "sufficiently stable stacking structure".
  • Arc Words: "There's really only one way to stack things, you know?"
  • Bad Liar: When Tree tries to call Cloudy out for taking Remote's battery for his collection, Cloudy replies, "Maybe it... umm, uhh... flew away! 'C-Cau-Cause it... doesn't like you."
  • Bait-and-Switch: After Pie is eliminated and Two says that there are 41 contestants remaining, Profily shows up and says that there are 42 contestants, making it seem like Profily wants to join the game...until it is revealed that Profily brought Teardrop with them, and she's the one who wants to join.
  • Banana Peel: Teardrop slips on Bomby's banana peel and gets sucked up by Black Hole.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: Teardrop shows a more violent side that she has never shown before, killing several contestants after they (mainly Eraser) knocked down her stack. She even kills the majority of Death P.A.C.T. Again for trying to stop her from causing death.
  • Big "NO!": Done by Marker during Cake at Stake, before he finds out that he is safe.
  • The Bus Came Back: Profily and Teardrop, both of whom participated in BFB, make a comeback; however, only Teardrop joins TPOT.
  • Butt-Monkey: Black Hole, true to the episode's title, is not treated kindly. His teammates reduce his personality to his sucking power, Pen obliterates his former teammate's view of him, and Teardrop ends up giving him his first kill during an attempt to scare him off of her tower.
  • Call-Back: Teardrop's laser finger was first shown in BFDIA 4, which was released almost 10 years before this episode.
  • Delayed "Oh, Crap!":
    • Cake's reaction when Tree tells him that Death P.A.C.T. Again is stealing blocks.
    • Remote realizes just a bit too late that Naily caused one of the batteries in the pile to leak acid.
  • The Dog Bites Back: When Eraser knocks down her block tower and asks what she's going to do about it, Teardrop responds by zapping him with her laser gun.
  • Do Not Taunt Cthulhu: The contestants learn the hard way not to mess with Teardrop- Eraser especially.
  • Eat Dirt, Cheap: During Cake at Stake, Marker (who likes to play "Eat the Dirt") sniffs his slice of cake and remarks, "Smells clean", implying that he wishes the cake contained dirt.
  • Frickin' Laser Beams: Teardrop gets her hands on a laser gun and kills a lot of contestants. Justified as they pushed her buttons and is quite violent overall. She even shoots a non-deadly laser from her finger- one of her powers.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: Teardrop realizes that she can abuse Black Hole's unwillingness to cause death, running towards him to make him back off from her tower. Unfortunately, she slips on a banana peel and falls into him, killing herself.
  • Impact Silhouette: Dragging Basketball behind her, Robot Flower leaves one in the wall of Basketball's Aboveground Factory.
  • It's All My Fault: Bell blames herself for her team's loss, but Eggy admits that everyone else on the team could have done a better job.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Snowball shows that he's not always a jerk by sticking up for Grassy and saying that he did a pretty good job.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: No Pun intended, but after getting her hands on a laser gun and going on a rampage the entire episode, Teardrop is finally killed by Black Hole. Not that he likes it of course.
    • Before that, Teardrop kills Eraser with her laser gun in retaliation for him knocking over her stack.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Remote wakes up after her new batteries are installed, wondering whether their team won the previous challenge (they didn't), why there was a timer in the sky (it was part of the current challenge), and where Pie was (she got eliminated).
  • Oh, Crap!: Black Hole when he sucks up his team's blocks "to prove a point".
  • Rage Breaking Point: The third time Eraser knocks down The Strongest Team on Earth's tower, Bell snaps and tells Snowball to kill him.
  • The Reveal: It is minor, but Pin reveals that the events of BFDIA still negatively affects her and she hated it by talking about it with Coiny. Coiny is taken aback by this and noticeably caught off-guard by this revelation.
  • Running Gag:
    • Eraser knocking down everyone else's block towers and asking, "And what are you gonna do about it?"
    • Robot Flower giving the other characters something different from what they asked for.
  • Running Gagged: The Arc Number 2,763 is almost given, but Tree notes that Robot Flower only gave them the abacus a while in during their attempts to get a battery for Remote, meaning that Death P.A.C.T. Again only managed to count 2,700 attempts.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Eraser knocks down all the teams' towers and taunts them about it. Even Pen is taken aback by this behaviour.
    • Downplayed by Barf Bag, who calls Bell an idiot for accidentally getting tangled up around her team's tower.
    • Bomby, while never the most likeable character, was particularly annoying this episode, with every sentence of his being a request and/or yelling.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Snowball sticks up for Grassy and says he did a good job, Gaty goes into a heartfelt conversation with Two, and Robot Flower actually is very nice in this episode, helping everyone who asks her nicely.

Black Hole

Black Hole is a calm and gentle soul who wants to keep people from dying, but being an actual black hole, his powers are inherently destructive. Teardrop uses his fear of killing others as a gambit to keep him away from her block stack, but when she accidentally slips on a banana peel, she gets sucked up by Black Hole, who says that this is the worst day of his life.
