He has made a bond and was the only one, but now, he must leave others to be the one.

Haruka: My friends, who have been by my side through thick and thin, are here.
However, the one whom I want to see the most isn't here.
The star of my manga: Taro Momoi.
As for how this happened...

Taro goes around asking his teammates if they regret becoming Donbrothers, which causes Haruka and the others to feel that something is amiss with him. According to Kaito, something will happen to Taro once he has accomplished his mission. What is it, and what will that mean for the team?

Meanwhile, the Nōto's assassins, Sonona and Sonoya, appear, having been sent by the Council to punish the others for their repeated failures...

Tropes

  • Asshole Victim: The Overseers are unceremoniously executed by Sonona and Sonoya in this episode. After all the torment they've inflicted on Sonoi and his companions and needlessly to the humans, it's safe to say they finally had it coming.
  • Back for the Finale:
    • Don Murasame and "Mother" return for the final episode, the former having spent the past few episodes either off-screen or as the Ninjarksword.
    • The Enya Rideon appears for the first time since the entire first half of the series.
    • Haruka's aunt Yuriko appears near the ending, after a six-episode absence.
  • Bittersweet Ending: While the team are able to finally get some peace after fighting a Forever War, Taro ends up disappearing to who-knows-where after the final battle. Subverted by the end though, when Taro shows up at Haruka's door, acting like his old self.
  • Book Ends:
    • The first episode begins with Haruka receiving an award for her manga "First Love Hero". This episode opens up with her receiving another award, but for Donbrothers.
    • In the first episode, Taro makes a delivery stating "looks like I've made a bond". His last scene has him make a delivery to Haruka with this line.
  • Call-Back: Haruka repeats the response she gave to the journalist in the first episode.
  • Creator Cameo: Toshiki Inoue himself appears as the presenter who gives Haruka her award.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Sonona and Sonoya deliver this to the Overseers, easily slashing through them while the trio barely had a chance.
    • Taro gives this to Sonona and Sonoya by powering up the Zanglassword with enough energy to cut through their combined attack, before slashing through them entirely.
  • Dramatic Drop: When Natsumi asks Tsuyoshi out just as he's moving out, he becomes so shocked that he dropped a whole box of his belongings with an audible shatter.
  • Grand Finale: This is the show's last episode.
  • Heroic Second Wind: After reading Haruka's manuscript for her Donbrothers manga, Taro regains his memory just in time to save the day, but shortly after pulls a Heroic Sacrifice to finish off Sonona and Sonoya.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Sonogo and Sonoroku get defeated by Sonona and Sonoya taking their transformed powers and using said powers against them.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Realizing they can't just go back to the way they were, a heavy-hearted Tsubasa lets Natsumi go.
  • In Medias Res: The episode opens with Haruka receiving an award for her Donbrothers manga, with the rest of the team (sans Taro) in attendance.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Kaito explains that when Taro's mission is complete, his memory is essentially reset.
  • Left Hanging: Several plot points such as what exactly "Mother" is and exactly what the deal is with Kaito/Zenkaizer Black were never answered.
  • Make Way for the New Villains: Sonona and Sonoya both make their proper introduction by stealing Sonogo's and Sonoroku's powers then killing them afterwards. They would later introduce themselves to the Donbrothers by finishing off Sonoshi as well.
  • Maybe Ever After: We never see if Tsuyoshi follows up on Natsumi's offer.
  • Never Trust a Trailer: The preview for the episode showed what looked like Sonogo and Sonoroku in their armored forms battling the Donbrothers. It turns out that they were actually Sonona and Sonoya, having killed the two Overseers after stealing their powers.
  • No Body Left Behind: Taro somehow disappears after defeating Sonona and Sonoya.
  • Oh, Crap!: The Overseers' reaction when they encounter the assassins is that of sheer terror and beating a hasty retreat. They don't get very far.
  • Painting the Medium: As Shinichi composes his haiku, he throws his scarf into the air, which hooks onto one of the characters.
  • Power Parasite: Sonona and Sonoya both steal the powers of Sonogo and Sonoroku for the final battle.
  • Re-Cut: On May 3, 2023, the Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club released a "Director's Cut" of the finale that added in a few more scenes:
    • The Executioners' pursuit of Sonoshi is extended into a proper fight scene, including a shot that transitions into Sonoza and Sononi encountering them.
    • Taro and Sonoi have a new conversation.
    • After Don Momotaro's Finishing Move against the Executioners, his suit loses its color the same way it did during Kaito's explanation of Taro's memory loss.
  • The Reveal: The reason that Taro had been acting strangely last episode is because his memories were gradually resetting, as a result of his mission being over. This was why Kaito had the Donbrothers celebrate his birthday early, so he can at least celebrate with his team before he forgot them.
  • Title Drop: The episode's title is Taro's Catchphrase early on in the series, which he uses it one more time at the very end when he drops off his delivery at Haruka's home.
  • Title-Only Opening: Like with all other Super Sentai finales, there is no opening sequence for this episode.
  • "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue:
    • Tsubasa is still on the run, this time with Sononi. For a while, at least.
    • Natsumi, now free to follow her heart, approaches Tsuyoshi and asks him if he wants to continue the dream they had together.
    • Shinichi continues his life as a carefree wanderer, though the lack of his signature scarf suggests he now does it less frivolously.
    • Haruka publishes an award-winning manga based on the Donbrothers' adventures, with Sonoza still acting as her editor.
    • Taro eventually returns, albeit with a new white outfit (and ambiguously a new identity), now under a new courier company named Shiro Usaginote .
  • You Have Failed Me: After the Overseers' failures, Sonona and Sonoya execute them all.
  • You Wouldn't Believe Me If I Told You: When Natsumi raises an ultimatum to Tsubasa regarding confessing to her everything that has happened to him, he brings this trope up as an excuse, believing that it's good enough that he knows her better than she knows him. This leads her to decide that she cannot stay with him anymore and she leaves him for good.

Haruka: And this... is how I started, and continued, to draw our story.
