Recap of Ash vs. Evil Dead
Season 2, Episode 2:

The Morgue

"Yup. Right up the pooper."

Ash: I'm gonna be like a ninja losing his virginity: quick and discreet.

At home, Brock Williams is enjoying a quiet evening while Ash shows up with his friends and gets into the house. He asks his father to let him stay for a few days, but the older man is apprehensive, telling Ash that he doesn't want to deal with any demon-related business, and the two argue for a bit, but Brock still agrees to it. While Ash is walking to his room, he sees his sister Cheryl's room and starts remembering the events at the cabin. Ash's own room remained untouched for 30 years, bringing back good memories even if his old pet iguana had died long ago. Ruby quickly snaps him out of his nostalgic mood and tells the others they still need to find the Necronomicon before her children do, and she's hidden it inside one of the corpses at a local morgue, where a coroner is killed by a revived corpse.

Pablo and Kelly still refuse to trust Ruby, and the former agrees to look after her with the dagger in tow, while Ash and Kelly go to the morgue. Ash sees one of his former classmates, Lilian Penderghast, going into the house and realizes that she's come to Brock, speeding off in fury. As they arrive, Ash tells Kelly to guard the door and enters the autopsy room. He finds a body of a young woman and starts dissecting her, first with a surgical saw, but when it proves to be not as powerful, he gets the chainsaw to do the job. Finding no traces of the book inside of her, he goes to the next corpse.

Pablo asks Ruby about when she's done to him at the cabin and his hallucinations, but she turns the tables on him and overpowers him. After eviscerating every other corpse, Ash finally finds the right one and tries to get the Necronomicon, but the intestines refuse to let it go. At the same time, Kelly is spooked by the elevator, and Sheriff Emery finds her, questioning her being at the morgue and trying to get past her, but she knocks him out. A parasite emerges from the corpse and attacks Ash, shoving his head into the corpse's anus, but he manages to free himself and destroys it. He sees Lilian's name on the morgue locker and realizes she's a Deadite who has come for Brock and Ruby.

At the house, Brock tries to pull his moves on Lilian, but she has none of it, instead asking for Ash. Ruby asks Pablo about his nightmares and knocks him out, restraining him. On their way to the house, Ash almost runs over two teenagers and curses them out. In Pablo's dream, Ruby explains he's having premonitions and slits his throat. Deadite Lilian breaks into the room and starts fighting Ruby, who kills her. As Pablo explains his premonition, Ruby realizes that the children are looking for the book to revive the demon Baal, their "father". Ash says that the Necronomicon is kept in the Delta, just as the teenagers from before hijack the car and drive away.

• Auto Erotica: Ash tells Kelly that's had sex with one of his high school girlfriends in the back of the Oldsmobile.
