Recap / Aqua Teen Hunger Force S 4 E 12 Ezekial

Go To

A small cup that resembles Shake shows up, making everyone believe he has a son.

Tropes:

  • Abusive Parents: Even though Zeke turned out to not be his son, much less young enough to be anyone's son, Shake proves to be very unfit to be a father. He tries to drown Zeke, then verbally abuses him for not being automatically skilled at basketball, followed by mocking him in a game of tennis despite that they were on the same team and Zeke had done nothing wrong.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Although Meatwad names him "Jesus Ezekial Jesus", though the Ezekial part is what they focus on, Frylock and Meatwad keep calling him Zeke.
  • Attempted Suicide: Shake tries to kill himself by using Carl's car, using a hose to bring the car fumes inside. It's only stopped because Carl does not want Shake's corpse in his car or to run low on gas.
  • The Ditz: Almost on Meatwad levels, Zeke seems to believe not only is Shake his father, but he's also a child, even though he freely admits to being 4,000 years old at the end.
  • Foreshadowing: The fact that Frylock says Shake has no penis raises the question of how he fathered a son. Turns out he didn't.
  • Lack of Empathy: Shake's attempt at suicide is, unsurprisingly, not a concern for anyone. Frylock admits he checked Shake's DNA with Zeke's while he was passed out in Carl's car, meaning Frylock couldn't be bothered to actually save Shake. Carl also gives Shake a steak knife after interrupting it, telling him to kill himself on his own lawn.
  • Older Than They Look: Zeke is small and child-like in behavior, but it turns out he's 4,000 years old.
  • Sore Loser: The Chess Dragon kidnaps Zeke to presumably kill him for winning a chess game against him.
  • Uncertain Doom: It's heavily implied that the Chess Dragon will kill Zeke for beating him in a game.
  • Would Hurt a Child: While thinking Zeke is a child, Carl was willing to shoot him with a shotgun to keep him away from his house.
