Opening Line: "Miss Cellan-y"- Yakko

Of Nice and Men: Rita and Runt are taken in by a rabbit farmer.

Survey Ladies: Yakko, Wakko and Dot go to the mall and find themselves pursued by a pair of ladies with surveys.

"Of Nice and Men" contains examples of:

  • Bunnies for Cuteness: The short takes place on a rabbit farm, so yeah.
  • The Cameo: George and Lenny make a brief appearance. note  In his hands, Lenny is holding the Brain.
    The Brain: I hate cameos.
George: Men don't play with mice.
(George flings the Brain out of Lennie's hand.)
  • Fur and Loathing: Runt finds out that the reason why Happy Bob runs a rabbit farm is so that he can skin the rabbits for their pelts to make fur coats. Just as Bob is about to skin a rabbit, Runt fights Bob and saves the rabbits.
  • No Fourth Wall: After Runt sings a lullaby, Rita tells the audience, "Hey, it's a cartoon. What'd ya expect, Sondheim?"
  • Non Sequitur, *Thud*: After crashing into a door, Rita says, "That's two minutes in the penalty box for clipping."
  • Oh, Crap!: Runt when he realizes that fur coats were made from rabbits.
Runt: Mm. Fur. Nice and soft like the bunny. (Gasps) Bunnies? Uh-oh. Bunny coats. Definitely bunny coats.
  • Shout-Out: Multiple to Of Mice and Men, including the aforementioned cameo.
  • You Dirty Rat!: When Happy Bob adopts Rita, he makes her catch the rats in his barn. Rita hates this job because she finds cats catching rats a cruel stereotype, and during her song, a rat bites her tail.

"What a Dump!" contains examples of:

  • Badly Battered Babysitter: Buttons. He gets bounced around in a garbage bin, lifted by a crane, falls off it and lands in a pile of bottles when the rope he hangs from breaks, gets trapped in a bottle, flies into a crane arm and lands in a pile of cans, exhausts himself trying to find the recycle bin that Mindy is in at a warehouse, only to find it's still on the truck, all just to keep Mindy safe.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Buttons manages to rescue Mindy and bring her back home safely. However, because Mindy has her old doll that her mother threw out, Mindy's Mom accuses Buttons of digging through the garbage and gives him a bath as punishment.
  • Chasing a Butterfly: Mindy chasing her old doll is what sets off this episode's plot.
  • Needle in a Stack of Needles: While trying to get her old doll back from the dump after her mom threw it away, Mindy wanders into the recycling center, where used cans are packed up in crates. Buttons comes to a warehouse filled with identical crates, looking for the one Mindy is in. It turns out that the crate Mindy was in was never in the warehouse, as it was still on the truck.
  • Recycled Animation: After Mindy falls into trash in, the scene where the camera zooms in to Buttons' Oh, Crap! look uses a scene from "Cat on a Hot Steel Beam".
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: When Buttons returns Mindy to their house, Mindy still has her old doll with her. Mindy's Mom sees this and asks her where she got it. She tells her "Buttons!", leading Mindy's Mom to believe that Buttons dug in the garbage against her wishes.

"Survey Ladies" contains examples of:

  • Birthday Episode: The Warners head to the mall to buy a birthday present for Dr. Scratchensniff. They eventually settle on the Survey Ladies themselves.
  • Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs:
    "Do you eat beans?"
"Would you like to see a new movie starring George Wendt?"
"Do you eat beans with George Wendt?"...
  • The Cameo:
    • After the Warners have entered the mall and are pointing out the different stores, Beverly Hills, 90210 stars Shannen Doherty, Tori Spelling, and Jennie Garth pass by.
    Yakko and Wakko: Heh-LOOOO, 90210's!
    • Fifi La Fume and Baby Plucky appear in this short, the former as the owner of a perfume shop, and the latter sending the Survey Ladies down in the mall elevator after they ask him if he'd like to take their survey. Mr. Skullhead also gives an "invalid survey" to the ladies.
  • The Cat Came Back: The Warners just can't seem to shake the survey ladies.
    "Maybe they don't like beans."
"Maybe they don't like George Wendt."
  • Character Catchphrase: "Would you like to take a survey?"
  • Fat and Skinny: The blonde Survey Lady is the fat one, and the red-haired one is the skinny one.
  • Idea Bulb: Yakko gets one when he decides what to get Dr. Scratchensniff for his birthday (the Survey Ladies themselves), which Wakko promptly eats.
  • Pun: Dot picks up a music box and says that it plays Bach. Yakko's response is, "Yeah, but does it play forward?" Cue a Rimshot from Wakko.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Reportedly, this was based on the show staff's actual run-ins with survey ladies at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, which WBA's offices were close to.
  • Running Gag: Lampshaded by Dot...
"See, it's a running gag thing, I think everyone gets the idea now."

Closing Tower Gag: "Wanna take a survey?" —Yakko, Wakko, and Dot
