The eighth episode of the first season of Aaahh!!! Real Monsters.
Gromble's Opening Line: "I'll get you!"
Don't Just Do It: Ickis is humiliated in class when he can't inflate his air sac enough. On his way out from class, Ickis runs into an academy dropout named Pugh. The two of them hit it off, but when Pugh bites off more than he can chew, it's up to Ickis to save the day.
Joined at the Hip: To punish Krumm and Ickis for goofing off in his class, the Gromble fuses the two into one monster he names "Krickis". Krumm and Ickis are initially delighted to be fused into one monster, but they soon discover that being attached to each other is not as fun as it seems.
Don't Just Do It contains examples of:
- Bittersweet Ending: Ickis manages to save Pugh and the two of them escape back to the dump. Pugh gets accepted into the academy, but his schedule is full of detentions and Snorchings. Despite this, Ickis and Pugh have become friends.
- Chekhov's Classroom: The Gromble's lesson on air sacs becomes relevant to the plot when Pugh starts dying because he didn't inflate his air sac all the way before going up to the human world.
- Gang of Bullies: Pugh and his friends are a downplayed example.
- Pet the Dog: At the end of the episode, the Gromble looks actually a little bit happy that Pugh and Ickis are friends. He also had told Pugh (offscreen) that he had potential.
- Spell My Name With An S: The sign outside the detention room spells Pugh's name like "Phug".
- You Got Guts: The reason Pugh takes a liking to Ickis is because he bothered to stand up for himself after getting tripped instead of just walking away.
Joined at the Hip contains examples of:
- Two Beings, One Body: The Gromble fuses Ickis and Krumm into one monster as a punishment for them misbehaving in class. At first the two are fine with it, but find out the hard way that being joined at the hip isn't as fun as it seems.
