Noises is a French narrative Podcast anthology series created by Bababam studio. It is inspired by shows such as Black Mirror and The Twilight Zone (1959).
As its name could imply, Noises puts emphasis on an environmental surround sound design (also referred to as "3D Audio") and is best enjoyed while wearing headphones. There is no continuity between each episode and each story ventures into various genres. As such, only recurring tropes are featured on this page, while more specific tropes can be found in the Recap page.
This series provides examples of:
- Downer Ending: A noticeable chunk of episodes end this way.
- Genre Roulette: One episode could be Horror while the next can be Comedy or even Adventure.
- Gratuitous Panning
- Inconsistent Episode Lengths: Some episodes can last around 7-8 minutes or around 15-20 minutes.
- Real Time: With the exception of the "Chachapoyas" episode, all episodes have a continuous time flow.
- Shout-Out: Many pop culture references.
- The Tag: Each episode of the first season ends with a discussion between the production crew before the credits roll.
